Managed to get one, hope many other Ninja's who missed one first time round managed to get one:thumbs:, was always going to come back, as for it being limited or not, don't really care and never will, a release's cash value or rarity has no bearing on my personal enjoyment of the film and release...

No Paul this isn't about scalping etc. It's about the ethics employed by Zavvi. They should had just listed at a 2.5k print run to begin with, not trying to pull a fast one on their selling tactics and how they mysteriously found 1.5k print in the shed somewhere.

Here is my quick reply to this comment -- Zavvi (or any other retailer for that matter) can print and reprint as often as they like. They will print whatever they think the market can bear.

As others have mentioned, these tactics have been done numerous times before. Therefore my original point about owning something that someone else doesn't have, is only fleeting until someone somewhere decides to reprint it.

Anyone here old enough to remember I AM LEGEND or JOHN RAMBO? Grails are a thing of the past.

Yes, agreed!

"Grails are a thing of the past." Yeah, for better or worse, it looks like it.

Only grails are John Rambo and Iron man FS sealed both with stickers, sealed only. Everything else is pretty much worth peanuts. These two never had an identicle print which I am glad for the collectors sake.

My information is that ONLY ANOTHER 1,000 have been made available so anyone hoping/expecting to buy this for under 10 quid . . . well, good luck with that . . .
Anyway, certainly looks a bit dark in the "live" pics when compared to the German edition, say, but that deep red is an interesting shade and looks similar to the shade used for "The Orphanage" and I think I will prefer it to the brighter shade.

As for releasing a further 1,000 I don't see a single negative, only positives - it's not as if they found some more and were offering them now AT A LOWER PRICE - say10 quid - is it !????!!

This is NO "Back to the Future Trilogy" steelbook - a steelbook originally priced at something like 40 quid, sold out, another 1,000 located, back on sale reduced by a tenner and the last time I looked 25 quid . . . Now I totally understand all the anger regarding that release . . .

As we all know this steelbook was originally released on Wednesday the 12th Oct. - in the middle of the week when many who wanted this would have been at work and thus unable to order  - so blatantly unfair to those collectors and I'm very happy that the people behind this release read all the angry messages from p***** off collectors who missed this on that day.

Anyway, as we all know everything is limited even including many Amaray releases - something I discovered when I went back a few years ago to the release calendar to pick up releases I might have missed when they first came out.

In conclusion: Anyone thinking that these steelbooks are not limited enough (LOL) can check out the steelbook OOP/OOS listings to see just how many of the 950 or so U.K. steelbooks produced to date are still available to buy from primary sellers or, come to that, how many of the Disney animation steelbooks or Marvel steelbooks are not OOP/OOS.
You will see that the vast majority are OOP/OOS and can only be bought now from third party sellers and we all know what that can mean.

Got the email earlier that it was back in stock and laughed that there was magically an extra 1500 available.........really Zavvi? :cautious:

I did for a split second contemplate ordering a copy as I'm a huge fan of the movie, then I remembered how bad the artwork is :D

Yeah, I get what you're saying.

I don't have a problem with second prints or re releases but to advertise something as limited to 1000 then once they are sold put a further 1000/1500 up for sale isn't right! I'm not one of these folks who gets up in arms that the limited edition I have is now not as limited when it's released elsewhere and its great that folks can get one instead of paying eBay prices but zavvi need to look at their practices, if it was just billed as 'limited' to begin with its no problem to increase the print run but to say limited to 1000 then double it once it's sold out just rubs folks up the wrong way

Actually, I have seen the German Blu live today. it is by far not as bright as the lower picture suggests. The brightness level is actually comparable to the UK version, except that it's not glossy.
