I gave an explanation to what I suspect is the issue for many people in my last post, #42, however, this is just my personal opinion, yet you're STILL asking what the issue is. I thought my post was pretty straightforward and easy to understand but the wording was clearly confusing for you
You said arrow will have released 3 variations of the same movie in a year and that seems excessive.
How does that affect you personally? Why does that aggitate you? It just doesn't make any sense. What I have done is try to rationalise any reason why that aggitates you and others but it just seems to me you're all getting your knickers in a twist over nothing.
Ultimately if you have the movies and the content on them, why should it now bother you that they re-release it again?
Arrow are not the first company to do this.
I mean for me it's pretty simple, they sold something as a "limited" release with "exclusive" content and with this announcement have completely gone back on the meaning of those terms. I could have waited longer to buy these, but I didn't because I felt like they were likely to sell out relatively quick so I didn't want to take a chance. If you're going to market something as a limited release with exclusive content and then just reproduce it, then yeah it is a bit annoying. Not going to lose sleep over it but yeah, I don't think it's a good look for Arrow at all to say "hey look what you can buy! Better be quick though, you won't find this content anywhere else and you won't find it again!" and then proceed to make it so you can themselves in a short space of time.
I don't really think anyone here is wasting energy except for yourself continuing to ask the same question in detailed fashion when you've been told the answer. If you don't like the answer that's fine but you're not exactly gaining any higher moral ground by repeating yourself.
So what you're saying in translation of that, is you would have liked a choice to buy a boxset over 3 individual releases. But they gave rational why that wasn't possible then and now is. So it just wasn't an option. Did you reach out to Arrow and ask if potentially a boxset would come?
You're also telling me is you got FOMO and bought them anyway so I guess now you wish you'd have waited then and that is what is annoying you? Who's issue is that? Tell me, how many times have you watched the Sad hill documentary since you bought it? (not that I now expect a truthful answer).
Solution: sell the ones you have. Buy the boxset. I bet you make money out of the process.
For you guys to get in a fuss over a documentary about a group of guys who repatched land for the final scene in one of the films... And I'll be frank, its not a groundbreaking doc. Its been released before... Is just bizarre.
I mean you can say I don't get it all you like and I'm clearly in the minority here so I don't expect to win any arguments but I will say those moaning about arrow making a new set with the same discs need a different outlook in life. See it as you paid an extra 35 to get them early and in really nice individual boxsets.
So you say Arrow is not in a good light now. What are you gonna do, boycott Arrow releases? Sucks to be them that do it as Arrow do great work with their releases. And I'm not here to brown nose them, thats a fact. You get high quality transfers, heaps of extras and decent quality boxsets.
If you aren't going to boycott them, whats the outcome of you being irrationally unhappy? A mardy post here about not having a documentary exclusive to your collection and how arrow are at fault for that when you're actually wrong.
