please use this thread as a RESOURCE to ask your fellow members about problems you've had with a reseller or questions about e-bay.

do NOT use this thread to attack or refute other members. if you an e-bay dispute with a member here, perhaps it's best to approach a trading mod before posting? we don't police e-bay, but maybe we can give you a tip or two.

if members ignore these suggestions, then the thread might be locked for a couple of weeks.

hey folks,

as a reminder what myself (and other mods) have continued to mention via private message, e-mail and other areas. we do NOT police other trading marketplaces like ebay, youtube, amazon and the rest.

there is ONLY a certain amount of information at our disposal and we do not have the resources in these other locations as we do on this forum - things that we can look at and evaluate.

having said that, there are trading rules on this forum that have been instituted for your own protection for trading transactions that happen HERE.

this includes the pending / active sales threads, the requirement of feedback posted for any new traders, our support ticketing system, the active investigations held by trading moderators and many other things we do not discuss openly.

we have long held that problems occurring on these other forums and marketplaces should be taken the appropriate authorities on THOSE websites.

many of you are established traders here on this forum and you should know all about the guidelines that are stickied in this section - including having new traders send first, getting tracking from the other party and proof of shipment, and what other precautions can be taken to protect your trading safety.

trading via ebay and their messaging system is against their stated policy and should not occur - and there are reasons why they have created that policy. you don't have protection of paypal or their listing system as a buyer or seller.

having said that, if there is trouble with an ebay seller or buyer, you should go to their website and report it there. if you are not aware of this process, follow the below link for more information.

so folks can feel free to chat about a seller or buyer that they are having problems with, but I can tell you right now - there will not be a "witch hunt" by moderators or staff based on one person's account of the problems or trouble they are having - and we limit the action taken for or against members here to transactions that occurred on this forum.

You should carefully watch this ebay seller. As soon as you bid on one of his items some (1) feedback bidder with 100% bidding activity with this seller starts shill bidding in slow steps to find out your maximum.....a tiny little bit too obvious this one!

Hi, anyone have any problems with the Global Shipping Program? I realised I can't buy any item from eBay that shipped using that program but those that don't use that I can buy. Weird.

A little heads-up everyone regarding eBay:

Shop carefully, friends: it's apparently phishing season. The BBC is reporting some auction listings are redirecting to counterfeit eBay login pages -- fronts for phishing scams designed to steal customer usernames and credit card information. The good news is that eBay isn't technically hacked. The online marketplace allows sellers to use scripting to gussy up item listings. Cross-site scripting is generally not allowed, but these scammers are doing it anyway.

"Cross site scripting is not allowed on eBay and we have a range of security features designed to detect and then remove listings containing malicious code," eBay told Engadget. Even so, the BBC says it was able to identify 64 malicious listings from the last 15 days. All those auctions have been removed, of course, and eBay says it is actively seeking out and removing these kinds of listings. Still, better safe than sorry: if eBay is asking you to log in at an erroneous time, double check your address bar to make sure you haven't been mysteriously redirected.

UPDATE:

To all HDN members that supported me during this paypal case with blufan84, I have some good news.

Paypal has just reversed the payment back to me today because blufan84 couldn't provide a tracking number to paypal.

He has been blocked and ninjas beware

Guys call me a NUMPTY.

When i updated the thread that paypal reversed the fees it was actually to blufan84

There was no tracking number updated on the paypal account from the buyer hence why i got confused when the case got closed automatically on 09/11/12 and the payment reversed.

I was just going through emails and found one from paypal on 10/11/12 stating the case is closed in the buyers favour as he has provided a tracking number.

Just been on the phone to paypal fuming and was told that he has uploaded a tracking number (RG552688368DE) however it doesn't track into UK, for that reason the paypal rep has reopened the case and submitted it as an appeal. He is also going to be requesting a proof of postage receipt from blufan84

I will hear from paypal in 72hours.

So guys there's a possibility i will be receiving something from this scammer

The above post was by me in 2012 when i was scammed by the seller Blufans84 from Germany on ebay.

Just a heads up he has recently scammed a HDN member by sending him amazon vouchers instead of an IM FS Steelbook.

Please block this seller immediately.

I am shocked he is still allowed to sell on ebay after scamming several customers.

I think the best way is to call ebay. He has had listings for blufans for several months now and they haven't even been released.

In your guys' opinion what retail store sells the best exclusive steelbooks?
I would probably say Future Shop in my opinion because the artwork most of the time is unique. Also the steelbooks are usually $5-$10 more than the regular Blu Ray/DVD combo.

Usually it's just $2 more than the amaray and most Disney Marvel have the same price as amaray on release week..

sunshine-live-4-ever - sold some rare steelbook titles in the last month! But as i know by a friend of mine he high bidding his own titles!

Bought a steel from me. Total costs was above 110€ ! Now 2 weeks later , i received no payment. He promised to transfer the money 3 times!! Nothing!!
After giving him a little warning he wrote total bullshit in his mails!

I set him on my blacklist - i advise you the same!

Too bad i need that money
