So, we have the "Fake" and "Steelbook Price Drop" thread, but we don't yet have the thread where you post listings with "crazy" prices for Steelbooks. If you see any, post them here and have fun debating. As per forum rules, please remain respectful with each other-one person's "high price", could be another's "deal of a lifetime" score. Enjoy! :scat:

Please keep discussion to Ebay and other retailers, not private sellers.

It's definitely a high price, but when was the last time you saw a copy of Sweeney Todd with the booklet? ;)

Its a sh** movie. Not paying $220 for the booklet, you can pick up the normal steelbook version without booklet dirt cheap. Its not even sealed.

I bid a lot on the "Holy Grail" yesterday. I was hoping to get an extra copy at a decent price. That plan fell through. lol I didn't think it would go for what it did this morning.

Here is another one from this pr** F&F1-4 AU steelcase
He doesnt even pack properly, just chucks them in an envelope.

But looks like he has sold his Godfathers for $360 and Smokin Aces for $160EEK!

Hmmm, maybe glare, but it also looks to me, like there is a dent on the top left. This is speculation of course, as I don't have the item in my hands, but thought I'd put that out there, just in case, as the item is listed as "brand new"....

You would be crazy to buy it at this price, they are still available @RRP if you spend some time looking.

Hey GC-yeah, I don't collect slipcases, but I thought I'd just comment, just in case there is, in fact a dent....

Don't know if this would qualify but I'm posting it anyway:

"Iron Man 2" Target Exclusive MetalPak

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=180699864538&ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:US:1123

Yes, not rare or worth $100 imo-still at Target website-overall, I don't think people were thrilled with the quality of the item, and I am not sure they sold out of their entire run (at least not online) http://www.target.com/Discs-Blu-ray...om_size-bin,target_com_brand-bin&frombrowse=0

What's kind of silly about this is someone just recently paid $95 for a copy on the 'bay. http://cgi.ebay.com/IRON-MAN-2-TARGET-BLU-RAY-STEELBOOK-METALCASE-/290479940719

You know what though, there are probably lots of collectors out there that don't even know these forums exist. Their only choice is to buy on ebay. Lots probably don't even know they can buy direct from a retailer. So these high prices may seem like a real score for some of them. I was that way once!

Buying the Target exclusive for "IM 2" from the website or from ebay, Amazon, half.com, etc is pretty buyer beware with all the problems this exclusive had with broken tabs and scratched discs. If I cannot see it and can't inspect it myself I won't buy it.

I agree with you.
