'The Raid' - In theaters April 2012

This is from my country (Indonesia) :)

If you guys like this movie you should see "Merantau" too, and it's already available in Blu-ray.
Here's the link from amazon : http://www.amazon.com/dp/B004326FCI/?tag=hidefnin-20

The main actor is the same with "The Raid" which is Iko Uwais

I tried figuring out if The Raid was coming stateside but i can't find any info. Is this already on Blu in Asia? Hong Kong? Korea? with English subs and region A obviously?

I checked playasia.com and yesasia.com but no luck. Any info is much appreciated.

Until now, we only have 1 movie that goes on blu-ray, that's only "Merantau" played by the same actor which play The Raid. Fyi, "Merantau" means traveling in english :) and its also an action movie.
We have action movie too named Pirate Brother which played by an actor who played Mortal Combat as Liu Kang (Robin Shou)

Also now, there's filming an action movie in Indonesia play by Mickey Rourke. The movie title is Java Heat.

I am stoked for this movie. I have been looking forward to it since I watched the trailer for it last year and its directed by a Welshman :scat::oohyeah::scat:

I saw this film last night and it was actually worth all the hype. The Raid is one of the best Asian martial arts/ action films that I have seen since Ip Man. With ease, it's a 5 out of 5 star film!

I cant wait to get the bluray - the soundtrack and gunshot sound mix in this movie were amazing. Think of the highway shootout in Mann's HEAT and multiply the sounds of those gunshots by five - that's how awesome The Raid sounded. Great camerawork too!

It's more than just an action film too - the movie is like one of those perfectly composed classical music songs from Mozart. There are many action movies that are just non-stop action from beginning to end - but they usually get boring and become overkill (Versus for example) because the tone and scenes just dont merge well. The director of The Raid was in total touch with the flow - like one perfectly choreographed dance. The Raid is not just violence porn even as violent and gory as it is.

Im happy that The Raid will probably be the best and most respectable movie from Indonesia as well.

The movie also features one of the best main villain henchman in ages - a little guy named Mad Dog in the movie. Remember when the main bad guy had memorable sidekick henchmen in 1980s films? Well, the main badguy sidekick is just the craziest well-written bad-asses in such a long time. He's even more impressive at martial arts than the star, Iko Uwais.

Watched the trailer a few months ago, it looks very cool action flick. I'm anticipating very much for the Blu-ray, as it probably won't be at our Cinemas.

I watched it last night, man there's just so many good action scenes. The choreography of the fight scenes are superb. Is an adrenalin filled movie. Mad dog was scary, boy can that guy give a beating. There were plenty of jaw dropping moments.

I love Asian cinema because of the unapologetic display of violence mixed with incredible choreography. Directors have some serious vision and display raw moments with great skill. This has easily become one of my favorite Asian films, I don't think I was this excited to see a foreign film and boy was I satisfied afterwards.
