I don't sell any of my collection be it DVD/Blu-ray or Books or Limited Edition collectibles or Music
I still have in my collection items purchased back in the 1970's as in Film Soundtracks on Vinyl
A few items I have given away to friends due to me getting an updated release of a title
Try and think hypothetically for once.

Try and think hypothetically for once.
I don't have a need to think hypothetically
I deal in reality and mine is I don't sell any of my collection that I no longer need it's given away if I no longer need it

If you want hypothetically it would be at retail price or less if I decided to sell anything and never for purpose of profit

I only sold 1 item ever and that was at retail price not a single cent profit made and was to a member of HDN a duplicate order that was an error it was a choice of canceling the order or helping out a HDN member as it was a sold out release

Try giving away unwanted items to friends or family or work mates from your collection instead of selling :)

You must be some kind of martyr then (or a very deluded liar) If someone is selling up their collection they are going to want to make as much as possible. Turn down £500+ or give it away... Hmm tough choice.

I don’t see it your way, sometimes I need some free space in my shelves for new ones and at that moment I give away the most of those steelbooks or other editions to friends, family, …. Although I was never in a position that I had to sell stuff for financing urgent health problems or things like that (and I hope I never have to). If I decide to end collecting and I don’t have financial issues, I’ll distribute my collection and give it away for free, including WoWS fac, without hesitation, to people who can appreciate it. Call me dumb or a martyr , but I feel comfortable with that idea.

Thanks Wouter, I will pick Eternal Sunshine from your sales thread as a gift as we are friends, cheers

I don't purchase items to sell
That's called a re-seller
I'm not and never will be a re-seller

I'm a collector as in purchase to be in my collection and at various times upgrade to a newer better version
I open everything nothing kept sealed
I keep in my collection what I purchase with a small amount of items I give-away

I never look at any release in terms of it's re-sale value as I don't sell anything from my collection

You don't get that do you

I'm a collector not a re-seller

Over 40 years I have been a collector

I'm an avid collector first and foremost but that doesn't mean I haven't and won't sell parts of my collection if/when I choose to. IMO, this doesn't brand me a "reseller" vs. a "true collector" :p As a certain well loved member has stated here on numerous occasions; this is a very expensive hobby and if we as collectors decide to part with certain titles of our personal collection to offset future purchases etc, I see no problem with that at all. Common sense prevails ;) I'd certainly struggle to sustain this addictive hobby if I kept absolutely everything I bought for a lifetime and only gave away for free when I'd finally had enough and/or upgraded. Unrealistic in fact. Of course, being generous and giving away items of your personal collection is great if you're in a position to do so. Fair play  I in fact hosted multiple giveaways last Ninja Week which included FREE International postage to boot... so, I know how it feels from both sides ;)

Sorry for the OT

I completely understand what you're saying. Don't need it regurgitated every post. You don't understand what I'm saying though as you seem to live in a very 'black and white' world where you can't process any thought pattern different to your own. We should call it a day now, it's getting a bit boring. Good luck to the seller (I'm sure he/she is on here) and hope you spend the money on something nice.

You seem to have a problem with resellers for whatever reason. Reselling isn't a dirty word, virtually everyone on this forum has resold a steelbook, either here or eBay. I too am a collector, but also a speculator, hoarder, reseller, but not a scalper. I sell my lesser steels to finance purchases of high end steel. Although I'm infamous for having multiple, or buying up multiple rare steels, I don't do it to scalp it. I'm actually hoarding it in anticipation of this hobby expanding greatly in the near future (gotta love my blunt honesty). This is the speculator, hoarder side of me. Currently, I'm trying to meet my quota of 3 copies of the Nova Avengers AOU 1/4 slip. Managed to get 1 recently, still need to get 2 more to meet my goals.

There's also a side of me that loves steelbooks. I like the way they look sitting on shelves. It's a great way to decorate a room. So you see, there are many kinds of collectors out there, there's not just one that's right.

I have nothing against someone selling unwanted items in their collection to make room and fund other releases or because of updated editions get released that are better than a previous release.

What I don't like seeing a buy now price that's more than 50% of retail price and multiple copies purchased
If a single item listed makes a huge profit due to an auction listing that started at retail price or below I have nothing against this either as that's down to the bids been crazy from buyers and not the seller listing a crazy price.

I do not like though someone purchasing multiple copies of a limited release and getting around a retailer limits of how many a customer can purchase and listing these at crazy buy now prices on ebay resulting in other customers missing out on a release at retail price and I support retailers that cancel these persons orders if noticed.

In regards to Karel's Group Buys he has terms and conditions you agree to when using his Group Buys
His terms are I don't support someone profiting from it so if I will see this being done I reserve the right to ban you from my group buys.

If you break the terms and conditions Karel has the right to stop someone using his group buys

Ah yes, we're talking about our good friends, the scalpers. Unfortunately for a guy like myself, I have to deal with these people more then usual. Think about it, if I need multiple copies of an extremely rare steel, and the GB's are limited to 1 per customer, or sells out within minutes, I need to get my extra copies off eBay, where our buddies, the scalpers roam. Yes, I gotta admit, I'm a prime scalper bait lol. But on the bright side, if my speculating abilities are spot on, I can benefit way more than the scalper, years down the road. It's almost like investing in stocks and bonds when you really think about it. That's not to say that I have any hard feelings towards scalpers. It's their item, they can charge whatever they want for it. I can list a banana peel on eBay for a million dollars, but who's gonna buy it? There's always 2 components to a sale, the buyer, and the seller. It's a free market out there, if the scalpers price offends you, don't buy it. It's just that easy. I hate having to pay 2x or 3x more then GB prices, but on the other hand, they're providing goods and services that I'm looking for. You gotta pay to play, you know what I'm saying?

And the ‘Re-Seller’ / ‘Collector’ fiasco continues :p
It's continued because a certain person can't recognise the fact a collector is selling their whole collection. He's like a stuck record blurting out about GB rules (which in reality only apply to people who bash the FA brand) Having a debate with him is like trying to get blood from a stone.

So who's selling their whole collection? If you mean the person who's WoWS is for sale on eBay then no I'd be very surprised if what they have for sale/have sold is their whole collection. They've sold some rare and some commonplace steels but not that many, and this is the only FA release that's on their eBay account. So they either got this straight from FA for free in which case they have all the other FA releases still in their collection or they bought this from someone as a speculation and are trying to make money from it.

Your "not that many" could be "a lot" to someone else. I only have 60/70ish, close to the amount they have sold. Maybe they sold their FA collection privately. Maybe they put it on a classifieds section somewhere. Maybe they put it on Gumtree. Who knows? Who cares? I can guarantee the person doesn't give a single **** about Karel's World Famous GB Rules (Faithfully & Loyally Upheld by Ser Boland)

Go and check HDN classifieds if you feel bad about people making profit from FA titles.
