The Book of Eli SteelBook first released at FutureShop in Canada on June 15th 2010! It had a subsequent re-release in the USA May 7th 2013 talked about HERE - Book of Eli SteelBook - struggling to get the actual original FutureShop thread link here. That Steel looks quite nice. If I'll ever see it in the wild for a reasonable price I might pick it up.

I still have a pretty old german steelbook release, where the art is diagonally and I believe the title is debossed. I remember having been quite impressed with that one as well, unfortunately I can't recall if there was already art on the back of the steelbook or if they still printed the movie informations directly on the Steelbook.

Yea! I have the German as well and the back is printed, I ended up Frankensteining mine changing the back with the USA release lol another one that needs a premium edition….

I remember when best buy got this wave of steelbooks, they were selling them for $10 a piece. They also had a deal if you recycled a DVD you would get $5 off. Those were the days.

Yeah, the back is a printed 'tech', before they started putting it on the j-card, and there's no inside art. But I got the version with a small metal flask, an empty notebook, and a nice 32-page booklet.
