That's what I said on the first page of this thread, then that always lingering hope creeped up again.

Not in today’s Europe, no, not with those immigration 'laws' in effect...

I appreciate him maybe trying to do something he heard someone say sometimes happens, but I also read in there that the guy got all new toys, and got carried away. Just because you can alter something now, doesn't mean you should. This all reminds me a bit of Lucas and Cameron.

Here's a comparison in HDR - some shots look amazingly better, mostly in the beginning and a couple at the end, but the whole middle is too green, too dark, too wrong. I don't care, I'm watching my Blu-ray.

P.S. It doesn't really say which BD this comparison used, the old one, the remastered one, or the new one, that comes with this UHD...

You can't view accurate HDR comparisons on YouTube. I'm just gunna have to buy the set...

And keep hold of my bluray just in case...

To clarify, the slipcase finish will be soft touch with spot UV detail & the steelbook will be gloss with a cover title and outer frame emboss.
Numbers are higher for this one but capped at 6k - release date is staying on 14 Oct.
That's awesome. Thanks for clarifying. So the only difference is that it's not a limited 2K print run like the recent Uni releases.

Unlikely they won't increase the run at some point within the next few waves imo. Just depends if you see this as delayed or part of the next wave. They've tested the waters & created a good product with the last 2 waves... I think they'll look to increase when they decide to elevate the movie quality (admittedly that could be further down the line) but they'll also recognise a film like Last Night in Soho is particularly liked in the collecting community. Just my hunch they choose to increase with this....

or maybe even Twister...

I'm getting it just for the packaging anyway, I've just taken it as a rule not to buy any UHD just for the disc anymore, as I tend to dislike them (the polite version) / as they're all done by blind, grown mad and out of their mind people (the 'what I think' version) :spoil:

Yup, but I guess we didn't expect a £5 increase for a higher print run.

Also, can anybody explain what they mean by 'soft touch' slipcase? To me that sounds like just folded card (Like the Jaws / Jaws 2 release), but it's supposedly a hard rigid case as well?!
It’s got a soft touch to the material. Like a lot of film arena releases. Schindler’s list and the 8 mile slip cases had it

This is however (from memory) the first time I’ve seen WB and Universal logos together on a release. Before anyone chips in I’ve just read that the distribution is WB in North America and Universal the rest of the world but it’s the first time I’ve noticed that. Feels weird seeing them together

If you can find a copy of the It came from outer space collector's edition it should be the same finish.

I like em, they're a little nicer in hand, almost like a fabric, not sure if there's any downsides though.

My collection layout with WB and Universal titles in different sections is in ruins with this news...
