I have the black and red steelbook, which is really good in hand and the picture quality of the blu ray is really good. This looks okay, but the problem will be that it all depends on the finish. I think I'll stick with the original, especially at that price! £50 is quite obscene.

Is this an independent label release or a kick starter because £49.99 is an utter disgrace.
Matches the poor likenesses of the artwork then.

That's Mathew McConaughey.
Melissa George looks like she's having over active thyroid problems and should consult a Doctor immediately.

Triple hard pass.

Not to mention the vampires are doing the Smooth Criminal leaning forward dance move on the bottom of the Steelbook there.

Using this 16 bit colour when most displays don't even support it is a pathetic attempt to justify the cost, if it was a Collector's Edition similar to Twister, Northman, Nosferatu etc it might be justifiable but for a Steelbook with poor artwork?

Get in the bin.

I was about to pull the trigger on the old black and red steel so I'm glad I found out about this before, I actually am OK with the art, while it's clearly not to everyone's tastes I think it's a homage to the comic book the film is based on but I do really dislike the lack of a title. Feels like a monkey's paw wish someone made for them to care more about the art on the front of steels.

That price though...

Even with the newer special features, which arguably is a decent set of features, I think £49.99 is far too much. Alienating almost anyone but the serious fans of the film and the nutter collectors who collect everything ever released.

This is Collectors edition territory. If it had a slipbox with it, I could see the £49.99 being somewhat justified. Here though. They're definitely charging for the exclusive artwork and the newer extra features. That doesn't justify it for me sadly.

Oh, well. More money to put elsewhere I guess.
