No it was always going to include a rigid slipcase it's just the details as in full artwork and contents was not revealed until today
This is why was a higher price been a collector's edition
It has happened with other releases you only find out all the details after going live to pre order sometimes a few weeks or even months laterSeems unlikely that just adding the other information couldn't have been done on announcement. It takes no more time to add that mate.

It was sort of obvious with the price been £49.99

Yeah £50 is expensive but isn't £45-50 exactly what you'd expect to pay for most collector sets of this type?I think we can still all agree that £50 is still far too expensive for what amounts to cardboard. These £10 increases are really killing this hobby.
I can't help but think that the pushing out of collectors editions at this price point is more to do with a profit margin against solely releasing a Steelbook alone for a smaller margin.
It's too much and in general I'm voting with my wallet to not buy these at this price.
My rant over![]()

I would say that's unlikely, unfortunately. Given the banner on the slip's mockup, I'd wager this is little more than a glorified jcard. Printed back, banner & bbfc logos are what I'd expect. If the slip is the same artwork both sides as the steelbook I may just buy this and replace the steelbook with the original one that was released
Relatively thin, given the content and mockup. Not super-slim like some steel only slips, but not chunky like the WB or Uni slips, which have additional folders or cards inside. Think manta lab fullslip size, it probably won't be far off that. Will it be a thin rigid slipcase or a big one like normal ?
Agreed but when a regular steel is launching at £35 we have to accept the world of £35 L/C editions is gone. I'm not arguing in favour of £50 economy sets but if they are to exist, what's the alternative?Historically £34.99 was the price point. Then £39.99, then £44.99 and now £49.99.
We've only broached this price in the last 6 months. It keeps getting moved further up every couple of months by £5 each time

Agree. I am not convinced whatsoever the rigid slipcase was the original plan either. It's in none of the descriptions or graphics, yet there was clear mention a3 poster and booklet. For me to keep my order it'd need to have at the very least; a premium finish on the slip & steel, with some nice front and back art on the slip & some premium art cards. Cut corners on any of it and it's a no. Charge premium price, I want premium quality. They definitely testing to see how many people cave and buy. The pricing is awful.
