I did make a tentative order but just cancelled. Can't be arsed with any more silly beggars from this company.
I had it ready in my basket with Rarewaves for the code today but I wana see videos first. I really like the steel art but that price, possibly no slip or just a thin slip. Nah, I’ll wait thanks

Plus my Rarewaves order was big enough lol

Yeah I'll wait. It isn't selling out, especially with all the uncertainty.

Ooo thanks for the heads up they have a code live mate

I'm about to join you! There has been a few things been holding off on waiting for a code. Brucey that they let you add it to the 2 for 30 to make it 2 for 27

Well it winds me up the zavvi RC activates 3 months after release dates now so f**k them. So instead of giving zavvi money on pre order 3 months + early I give it to Rarewaves a month early and get my pre orders in for that next month. Plus with that point system you get £5/£10 off pretty quickly.

What’s the 3 for £30? Steels?
They had the 2 for £40 deal like everywhere else but now they dropped the actual steels to £20 and you can now use the code too on them

Makes sense mate, I can see a lot of people jumping ship in the future if they carry on offering the same deals & the loyalty points. If I was Zavvi I'd try and resurrect red carpet but actually make it worth it to get customers back e.g. loyalty points etc. Still not sure I'd return though.

2 for 30 amaray mate.

Sweet! Yeah big fan of RW and their attempts to capture some customers. The 10% on pre orders especially welcome! And is effectively what Zavvi initially promised us with red carpet.

My only issue is I’ve had a few damaged items but they deal with it quick through email. BUT arrival and delivery times are a bit of a mess. Gone from getting stuff on Fridays/ Saturdays before release with Zav and HMV to 1-2 weeks later lol but f**k it. Saving money

Also because they stock stuff from other countries I don’t have to f**k around with amazon Italy or Germany etc. if you wait anyway

I'm still yet to get anything damaged thankfully (although I might not order as much as yourself). Have you ordered Arrow editions through their website yet? I have only done it through their ebay so interested to know if they do the same bubblewrap envelope in a cardboard mailer or vice versa...

Yeah since you mentioned that somewhere (about editions from other countries) I've kept an eye out. Just wish they had collated it in a "rest of world" section or something rather than just randomly. Saving money though like you say, so I'll deal with navigating the site (which has improved somewhat over time tbf).

I’ve ordered 2 of the thicker collector sets before. One was in a mailer before Christmas. Few dents

Other was recently, think it was in a box. Don’t remember bubble wrap but it wasn’t damaged

The website is a tad messy. Smoother now since the update. I found them a bit sketchy to start with over the years but they are getting better. I got the Italian Marty Surpreme from them today, 4K, used a fiver off code so £25 not bad. Lovely steel. If it was from Amazon Italy it would arrive like a banana

They're both using the thin cardboard packaging so it's all down to luck with how Royal Mail handles them for standard steelbooks as it offers very little protection against crushing. It's probably the right trade off, I've only had 1-2 packages damaged to date, one was just a few days ago and it looks like someone quite heavy has stood on it.

Don't think I've got any pre-orders with Zavvi any more, probably time to cancel Red carpet.

Zavvi delivery boxes are much better than Rarewaves though. Rarewaves are amazon thin. Sometimes it’s in 2 thin mailers with RW but I’d still argue zavvis are thicker and better lol
