Koch Media has lined up a six disc (!!!) Ultimate Edition of Sam Raimi's Army of Darkness for release 26th April

Details are sketchy at the moment but sources reveal that the following will be included

The FULL Director's Cut (sourced from the same print that MGM used on their Hong Kong DVD release with the missing shots absent from the US DVD. No VHS sourced extra footage here!)

The US Theatrical Version

The European Theatrcial Version (differs slightly from the US one)

and the rare Extended TV Version (containing additional footage not seen on ANY home video verson!!!)

Evil Dead 2 - Lionsgate special edition from the US (remastered and loads of new features)

Any chance these Blu-ray releases will be remastered? I read the U.S. was not the film's best look. I know there is a slim chance, but it does happen.

Well this is using the MGM HK DVD master, and the MGM HK DVD is superb! Looks better than the current US and UK BD!

Yes Koch Media lock a lot of their titles.

I just watched the HK MGM Dvd and the picture is inconsistent. The windmill scene for example has some very poor special effects shots that I think will be very tricky to clean up.
I've never heard of Koch and I really hope they have the ability, but they've definitely got some work to do to make it look good in HD.
