My Debit Card has been charged on Friday but its only a pending transaction
It wont change to payment taken until its actually shipped

As soon as my order is picked and ready to be shipped zavvi will then request my bank to release payment and the pending transaction will change to show as a actual debit on my account

If it remains as a pending transaction it will mean zavvi have not asked for release of payment and around 2 weeks later this pending transaction the funds will return to my account as available funds

I expect though my order will ship in next few days most likely will be the coming Sun/Mon/Tue this will happen

If its not shipped in next 2 weeks my bank will automatically reject the pending transaction if zavvi don't ask for release of payment

A pending transaction is not a debit of funds its what its means its pending but these funds are not available in your account to use
Your bank account will show at first glance that money has been taken but it should show as pending transaction under pending
Its easy to miss this and think the funds have been taken when they really are only pending

Your overall bank balance will show as if this was debited when in fact its just a pending transaction
Some bank account will show this a pending and others it wont show the transaction until its actually been debited fully

I have the same issue, but I think it's morally wrong, wether legal or otherwise, that they can hold my hard earned dough, and not even send out my goods, or at the very least respond in a professional and courteous manner, and inform me and many others here what the hell is going on!

Its legal and it how all visa debit card transaction work with all retailers be it zavvi or your local supermarket etc

Credit Cards are different the transaction wont show up on your account until actual funds are released

Its been like this for past 2 years with Visa Debit Cards all transactions at first are a pending transaction then a few days later are actual debited from your account for real

If a pending transaction is not released to the retailer it will return as funds available in your account in a few weeks
This can happen were the retailer does not request release of payment or directs the bank to cancel the transaction

If it isn't shipped soon, I'd contact the company and ask why, I'd have thought you would have been the first to have this steelbook shipped.
Well, like someone mentioned... I been contact with them before but it was about another release, and I jut got one automatic email that explained basically nothing. So I'll just wait for now...
To be honest, there are too many releases this month and the next, this one isn't my priority anyway...

Can't believe this thread has reached 100 pages and we all don't even have despatched messages :(
I think it shows how passionate people are here about the hobby. It's a release a lot of people are looking forward to and so many comments is a sign of how frustrated people are getting!

Finding it quite entertaining to a degree as Zavvi's name has been dragged through the mud and back, and they deserve it, but at the same time people not getting what they are paying for is clearly pissing a lot of people off, myself included!

As someone who has always been a cash person, I only got a debit card a few months ago, ( did have credit cards, but got rid of them all now)I've come to realise this over time, but regardless if it's legal or not, when I go to a supermarket etc, they may hold the money but I walk with the goods. It's when the goods haven't even been picked yet that I have an issue with them holding my money for more than 24 hours. Legal or not, I think it's wrong.

Getting really frustrated now, as people can probably tell!

I'm just going to find a short bloke to pick a fight with now [emoji38][emoji38][emoji38] lol

well to be honest i'm surprised the staff here with all there 'zavvi contacts' haven't gone and asked the question whats going on with this one!
it feels like they just don't want to rock the boat or maybe its just me with that view but tend to notice when things go wrong the silence starts.
i know thats how its not probabely meant like that but thats how it comes across. I know ill prob not be popular for that view i'd just wish the staff would get more involved when things do go wrong and help reslove issues easier and yes i know we all have to contact zavvi as there "our orders" before its is said but as people are getting palmed off with standard zavvi responses!
sometimes going the extra mile would be appreciated and make us a better community if it worked all the different ways.

anyway said my bit

lol. like saying that the negativity surrounding AssembleGate is not Zavvi's fault?

I don't believe I said that:
The only thing that creates a negative atmosphere is the attitude of the members here. There are ways of expressing dissatisfaction without resorting to ranting and swearing.
I guess you have to twist my words otherwise your straw man argument falls flat on its face. It is pretty clear that I have not defended Zavvi in this thread. It is obvious that there are a number of issues with this release that need to be addressed.

I'm with you on that, but I have a gut feeling that even the staff here are getting fobbed off by Zavvi also.

SOOOOOOOOO FRUSTRATING!!

i was not twisting your words Snooloui. I know that you are a prominent member here. but I don't agree with redirecting the origin of frustration to fall on the customers. you made a direct implication that the members here are the ones with poor attitudes about the situation and are "responsible" for the negative atmosphere. I disagree. I think if everyone kept a positive attitude about situations like these, unfortunately nothing would ever get done about it. sometimes the honest feedback is less than positive, and if that's what is warranted, then I say let it have it's day. A lot of people were affected by this oversell that Zavvi pulled. It was really lousy of them to just randomly cancel orders with no communication to us and no explanation. Of course people are gonna be pissed. what do you expect. and they should be.

we live in a digital age of instant ability to communicate to us via multiple avenues (forums, social media, etc). but what do we get? no instead, I contact them via their hilarious "messaging" system and they give me a canned response (as always) that they oversold and hope it does not cause any inconvenience.
in other words "sorry but we don't really care. we're cancelling your order that you've had in place since day 1 of preorder. deal with it."

I love HDN. I believe the ninjas of this community are excellent. the staff is excellent. and this is our outlet to discuss the happenings of these releases. this oversell of Zavvi's Avengers Assemble happened, and we have opinions about it. HDN and a couple other forums are the voice of the steelbook community. if the voice keeps a shiny smiley attitude about things like this, that would be a facade.

clear and intentional communication can ALWAYS cure a problem like this. where is it?
