Everyone not happy with this steel should send it back as defective. After all the fuss for this and it turns out to be bang average.
Can you send it back? Sure. Provided it's unopened you can return it within 14 days under the DSR.
Not liking something does not mean it's 'defective' however.

Zavvi make no amends for postage in my experience. £8 for the pleasure of returning 2 zboxes when they turned out to be awful. Better off just selling them on ebay personally.

Yeah, they're well within their rights to not cover return postage if the goods aren't faulty (provided they say they're not going to) - so as you say, reselling instead is likely the better way to go (especially considering this is a Marvel Steelbook, so you're likely to make more doing so anyway).

I didn't purchase this (not that bothered about the film) and have not seen in hand. So therefore i don't know whether i like it as a steelbook or not. I have only read a few complaints on here and on facebook regarding the lenti not being up to peoples standards. Implying defective copies are out there...

...or maybe i'm just on the anti-zavvi vibe and will use anything to bash them right now.

Arrived..... Here are pictures of it sealed and opened. ENJOY :)

The steelbook has a magnetic lenticular, the steelbook is MATTE finish, the title on the steelbook itself is EMBOSSED, the back is flat, no 'bossing.

More Pics.

The matte finish is of good quality, there is a slight sheen to it, you cansee it in the close up in the photo of the embossed title.

Thanks for the great photo set! It's far from perfect, but will do nicely with my Avengers collection :)

Yeah, I think that's where one of the problems lies - people are expecting this to be a KimchiDVD, Novamedia etc. quality lenticular, but realistically I definitely never expected it to be one - it's Zavvi's first ever attempt at a lenticular package, I doubt even the likes of KimchiDVD started out with amazing lenticulars for their first releases (though I could be wrong, as I've not looked in to it).

I very much have a love/hate relationship with Zavvi. Their customer service has always been pretty terrible for me, but when things go right they can sell some pretty nice steelbooks. I'm far from a Zavvi defender most of the time...

However I do think the main 'issue' with this release has been that some people have had vastly unrealistic expectations; and a lenticular not being what you had hoped it would be still doesn't make it faulty/defective.

Personally, I'll be waiting until I receive my copy before I judge the quality of the release - though from what I've seen in pictures it looks like the overall package might actually be better than I expected.

Kimchi's RUSH lenticular was a piece o' crap yet I don't recall such an uproar as this is getting.

To be honest, I really prefer this over nova's art. It fits the movie more and the characters are not too crowded and everywhere like they are on Nova. Clean front and back with good embossing. So glad I did not cancel it, got my dispach noticed this morning. Can't wait to get it in hands ;)

Like everything, I'll decide for myself weather I like it or not once I have it in hand, I won't be returning it though (unless it's damaged) it's one of my favourite films of recent years so it's another edition to add to the collection, I'm not even sure if I'm gonna open it as I normally just watch the regular US amaray copy I got as a freebie from Amazon during the phase 1 briefcase debacle

From the pics the lenticular looks like a bit of a letdown but if I'm honest none of the lenticular magnet steels I own have been amazing (although the predator one is one of my favourite steels) but overall it looks like a decent edition, nice artwork, embossing and the lenticular.
