With so many releases this month (and next), do you think they opt to have no finish on steelbooks to save time and get through the factory quicker?

Does seem unfortunate that all these big priced releases don't have any nice finishes. Sadly, it's looking more realistic now that the Nightmare On Elm St collection will follow the same fate.
I wouldn't assume too much, the US version of Corpse bride was also matte but they've confirmed the US NOES release will have a 'premium' finish so hopefully the Euro release gets a matching treatment. Hopefully... will be a bit of a gut punch considering how expensive the Euro version is if the finish is garbage.

Comment on the release, please? Is there any nice finishing on the slip? Is the steel glossy or matte? Sad they've stopped. I read that yesterday, sad times. Take 15% where you can get it.
Yeah nice set, matte steel, probably overpriced by £10 like most of these collector editions, but overall not too bad, I've not got around to watching the actual disc, so can't comment on the transfer.

Purely to save money imo.

Urgh. Another where the PET slip is baggy and loose and the steel just falls out. The PET slip feels horrible in hand too. It’s got like a frosted feel to it

Literally just spot glossing on the title of the slip and that’s it. But the folder design is full of spot gloss. Make it make sense

Mine arrived today, Im definitely a little disappointed with this one, The eyes on the steel slip don't line up properly, The steelbook is streaky matte and the bonus items are meh.

My older corpse bride steelbook looks better than this.

The only things that actually disappoint me on this release are the eyelids on the PET (that I may scratch off - they don't line up and you can actually see the eyes through them anyway) and the resolution of one side of each poster. The rest is great.

The steel isn't proper streaky, and the metallic effects are needed. I like the frosted effect on the PET. The slip is lovely, including the subtle debossed butterfly on the rear. The folder is stunning with all the blue foil. The artcards are fantastic, really nice pieces from the film, but would've suited a booklet.

I’ve been very vocal about the last few WB releases and I can’t stress this enough, I love all the artwork here. But it’s just so f**king disappointing to have all these lacklustre pieces with no decent finish when you’ve paid a premium price and other editions in this style get better treatments at times. WB seriously need a wake up call or some damage to their income imo. Make them realise they can do a lot f**king better for what we are paying.

The steel is a sh!t finish. The baggy frosted PET slip where the eyes don’t line up is w@nk. Great design. W@nk execution.
The rigid slip again is gorgeous art but a shocking tiny bit of of spot gloss on the thin title.
All the extras are great. Absolutely fantastic but the fact the best finish is the spot glossed butterflies on the folder is a proper kick in the teeth. The steel and slip should have this level of details too. The characters/ moon/ bridge could’ve all been glossed and it would’ve looked killer.

Instead it’s just an overpriced edition with nice art. Nothing more. Also think it should’ve included a booklet instead of a thin zine

I’ve got that steel and thinks it’s the best one. Wasn’t going to double dip and get this but it’s the only time they’ve done a collection that’s has the extra bits and it’s nice to have that different box art cover

Received my copy today. I'm not sure if everybody else had the same issue, but I had to be really careful taking the j-card off, especially the front, as the dreaded glue tabs have left a bit of a bubble on the front of the box, not unlike The Exorcist. It has torn anything, but just left 2 raised lumps at the top of the box which is annoying.

It's the same story with every slip like this. You need to be super careful, and ideally heat them a little before removing. I managed this one, and almost all others in recent memory, fine. It was that Exorcist deluxe leather edition that next to no one managed to get away with unscathed. Nightmare it was.

On the spine side of the slip mine seems to have bumps? Haven't opened my copy yet but has anyone else had this?
