It has the protective film on the lenti.
I don't have it in hand yet, I've seen from videos it looks very nice without the film hence my confusion when he said 'The lenti depth on the Kimchi is a little blurray and it is not clear'. I was questioning what he said pal, not what i've seen:thumbs: But yeah maybe @sunnyx would have a different opinion on the clarity if he were to take the film off

This is a review of the Deadpool LENTICULAR version of Mantalab Global Series No.1

I Finally have this steel in my hands :)

I think a lot of people underestimated this after seeing what they thought was a crappy kiddies artwork! I must say when I first saw this I was kinda of shocked in a way. Having time to digest this in and have this in my hands to compare with the Kimchi, I would say it is class

Mantalab vs Kimchi

As a owner of the Kimchi and Mantalab Lenti I will give you my impartial opinion, not a random opinion to those that just own the Mantalab and make random one off comments such as 'blows Kimchi out of the water' nonsense  Very helpful indeed and you know who you are :cautious:

So for those that don't have any, or own one of them and thinking about getting the other, then hopefully this review would help from an impartial collector

First of all what is original about the Manta's version is there is one flat whole Lenti magnet on the front steel with a 1/3 quality slip. It's unusual, I never seen this before, but it works. At first I was unsure with the goodies put in the envelope but I realise that if you put the steel and goodies to fit inside a bigger box it defeats purpose of this design. You will never see the lenti magnet which you can almost treat this as WEA. If this was in a slip with the lenti on the front you be taking out the standard WWA which to me is much less appealing. So having the whole magnet stuck on with no silly borders is nice and can treat the steel as a 1/3 slip and even forget it is a magnet. So you kind of have a mini slip over WEA. The Lenti is executed very well to suit the movie, a wacky, kids, fun, silly artwork. It is silly, but it works. So overall very pleased.

How does it compare with Kimchi version? Well that is a very subjective question. You have to choose which artwork you prefer, something original or a standard character classic stance pose you find in most Lenti's. Trying to compare this is like trying to compare Schindlers List with Transformers lol. Totally different theme. Both are good in their own ways, but both have their niggly bits as well (you can say that in ANY steel, NO steel is perfect).

What the Kimchi lacks to the Mantalab is that it feels very light compared to the likes of Nova Lenti of the same/similar design and slip which to me is a turn off. It does not give it that extra buzz as the Mantalab's which feels more heavy and of more quality even without the goodies in the envelope.

However.... the Mantalab lacks the deep rich colours that Kimchi has on the Lenti. You can say that the colours on the Manta is a little less dull and less inspiring compared to Kimchi.

But...the Kimchi's design could have felt a little more premium if I am being honest. I was a little underwhelmed with the feel when I first had this in my hands as it is very light, but the rich deep colours and lenti design makes up for the disappointment.

However....the Mantalab's crazy artwork does not really have a connection feel if I displayed with with my other premium lenticular covers as it is so different where as the Kimchi's version can fit in with all the other Marvel's such as Hulk Nova, Thor 2 Kimchi, etc.

As you can see Kimchi fits in well with lenti's display together.

Where as the Mantalab looks a little out of place if I am being honest?

View attachment 265251

The lenti depth on the Kimchi is a little blurray and it is not clear as it's pro rivals such as T2 Nova and Kimchi favourite Marvel Thor 2 where as the Mantalab's lenti magnet is much sharper.

They both have strong points and weak points.

A steel to me is NOT just the artwork, it is the over all touch and feel of the slip, the steel, the initial buzz, everything put together. It has to feel as premium as it looks.

So overall, who is the winner? Difficult to answer and it boils down to what your personally enjoy.

I love both releases from Manta and Kimchi, both have their good bits, both have their niggly bits. I would not be selling or trading any of them. Both are there to keep :) Which you prefer is again, very subjective. Do you like red or blue?

Aesthetically the Kimchi is prettier with bright red colours and the explosion in the background.

The Mantalab has better build quality with it's heavy magnet and offers more creativity that you can giggle and keep you smiling when you look at it.

If you want a strong character pose with deep rich colours that will fit well with other lenticular steels this then go for the Kimchi.

If you want to go for something that can offer, originally, more depth and a stronger build quality with a more premium feel then Manta maybe for you.

Both sit happily in my collection in home as both offer something different as opposed to the Full Slips which are more or less the same artwork. You can display these together as they look so different.

But 'IF' I had to choose one, I would say Mantalab's, based on the quality and the originality which just gives it that edge over Kimchi's.

So Mantalab is the winner overall IMO,

but not by far....;):naughty:

And no, it 'doesn't blow this out of the water':rofl:

You'll need to unseal the Kimichi and then peel off the protective film to fully appreciate the lenticular! Whilst viewing sealed you are only seeing it at 70% strength! Other than that totally top review

Haha guys, I can only comment on what I can observe :) If you want the unsealed review for both then you will need to speak to the likes @megabee who unseals their steels! I am sure any steel is unsealed would look much better.

Thanks for the analysis, definitely an interesting read. I went for the kimchdivd for the same reason you said, it'll just feel more fluid amongst my other marvel lenticulars. Though if in hand it looks more blurry than kimchidvds thor 2, I am worried because thats a fuzzy mess in my hands

I guess you are going to need to unseal and open it to see its real beauty according to those that have unsealed this. You going to bite at that and open this? :) When's yours arriving?

I looked at both Kimchi and Manta and passed on them completely - fullslip and lentis.
I appreciate the work put into both, but neither really hit the spot for me.

I still feel if Manta has been able to utilize Deadpools' doodles (when he's sitting on the side of the flyover bridge) in the lenti it would have been more relevant . . .

So waiting on the FACs and hoping for something very special; the time it has taken it should be spectacular (ditto Dredd and King Kong). Fingers crossed . . . .

Yeah guys, you can send me all the steels which you are afraid to unseal, I will unseal and make photos of them.

I don't blame you man, this is definitely staying sealed for me haha and I was told 14-21 days so i'll let you know how I feel about it in a short eternity :dunno::rofl:

That long!! The FAC be released by the time this reaches you! I will have to tease you with some Lenti shots with Thor 2 that you are after as well unless you already have a dozen copies hidden in your vault

I know! I was surprised, hopefully it'll be worth the wait. And i've had a couple thor dark world from kimchidvd before, I'm not the biggest fan of it to be fair. Just ned it for my marvel collection  Try all you want, I'm in no rush to get it ;)

I also have to pick up the package from the custom office. Sometimes it doesn't matter which value is indicated on the package label. If they open it and think the value is higher you have to provide the payment details. At least here in Germany.

$17 is only €15 Euros
It needs to be $20 to $23 for Rep of Ireland to have better chance of avoiding mail center forwarding parcels to customs
There is always the risk any parcel no matter what the value is marked been sent to customs but if marked below $20 it's more likely to happen

Luke's parcel was also sent to customs same date and time as mine was

I know it might be time consuming but be really best if UK low marked value be separate from the other European countries and the rest of European countries be kept at $20.00

If the Revenant has also been marked as $17 that will also very highly likely also end up been sent to customs and price marked will be questioned by customs

Customs collecting for Xmas party drinks I might get a thank you Xmas card from customs this year
