I'm post 70, forgive me if my math is bad but I went through and counted 67 one click requests, 33 full slips and 7 quarter slips before my posts totalling 107 requests by post 70, wtf?
Don't go by the thread post count number if you look at page 2 and page 3 its not in order lot of posts have the same post count number

Example I'm listed as post count 54 in the GB thread but I'm really post number 86
Your actual post count number in GB thread is lot higher than 70

Think I similar thing happened last year with the mondo con Zombieland GB, anyway, im just hoping that @Aniv can get some more allocation so more members in the gb, myself included can get in on this release. Fingers crossed!

Right here. At 3:00 I hit refresh on the Group Buy thread, put in my request, got #54 and done. Easy peasy. (And it seems to have dropped to #25!:wow:).
It was slow loading - but it was fine.
And even if I didn't get in, with this GB you have TWO shots at this (with the Manta live pre order), so that is pretty cool... and it seems with accidental double and triple posts, a lot of people who thought they didn't get it might get surprised that they did.

You got it, thats what you pay for when joining a GB.
It might be cool to have two shots but it also makes it easier to buy multiple copies, leaving more collectors empty handed.

I hate scalpers too. But (as far as I know) everybody has the same equal opportunity to get in on the GB, or pre order on Manta.

holy macaroni! managed to post whilst queuing to get tickets for Suicide Squad(7/10). My 4G could not handle it on my phone. didn't check post number as trailers was about to start. Just checked and i made the list. Im very grateful! Good luck to those on pre order day. Hope you get a copy

Jeek has a valid point. Regardless who manages to get in the GB or not, it leaves the direct website vulnerable for duplicate orders which weakens the availability. So in theory, the 110 members that have joined have every opportunity to order again direct. The same applies for GB's from Kevins in the bluray forum. That doesn't stop a member from bluray forum ordering from their GB, then joining HDN, then reordering from the site directly. So in effect tripling the number of 1 clicks. Although I understand GB's are there to help members obtain a copy, there are also many others that will exploit the limited availability.

True as well, smh

I remember when Kimchidvd checked GB shipping addresses vs webshop orders to make it more difficult to place duplicate orders. If I remember correctly that was for the Frozen GB. But that may be too much work for the retailer, which I completely understand.

They could also have 10 computers with different IP addresses and accounts. There will always be scalpers and people trying to game the system. Getting bothered by it accomplishes nothing. It is what it is.

But we shouldn't help these people through GB either

There should be an agreement that by signing onto any HDN GB that you will not make a duplicate order directly from the site.
Why? What if you want 2 copies? what if one is for a Christmas gift? Everyone has the exact same chance at the GB and the Manta order. If someone ends up with "x" amount of copies that were obtained within the construct and PAID for, how is that not perfectly fine? If they are scalpers, then that sucks for the collector who did not get to it first. But the copies would have been obtained in no unfair, unlawful, or insideous way.
Again, I hate scalpers and wish for collectors to get their copies - but you can't make up new rules because someone is faster on the draw. Life isn't fair. I have missed out on quite a few myself.
(And the mods have made clear that each GB host is allowed to proceed with their own rules within their GBs - I know Some put in rules that Don't allow multiple copies in the GB).

This really just goes to show how pointless this type of GB is. If it wasn't for the numerous vested interests then retailers would simply sell through their own websites and there would be an end to this ridiculous circus.

I haven't made up any new rules. I say there 'should' be. Not there WILL be. What I have sugguested is a summary of what the agreement is. It's not a definitive statement. Of course there are other factors to take into account like the ones you mentioned. But I think most people reading this would know what I mean. If you order a personal copy for yourself from the GB you should not be participating in ordering direct the website for your personal gain.

Folks, there is no way to police 100's of members and stop them from ordering a 2nd copy elsewhere. We're not going to cross check online orders with group buy sign ups-we don't have dozens of people to focus on that, and as the retailers have grown they don't have time or Staff to police people. We are not here to check and double check members' moral intentions or judge them. People either consider their fellow members and collectors, or they seek to capitalize-either way, that is their business. Where there is a will, there is a way.

We appreciate the support of our group buys, but if you don't wish to participate, please feel free not to-don't use our community as a trolling ground. The retailers want to move their copies and they will do it via various means, and all of that is their prerogative. FYI, some of the same people complaining about scalping, are scalpers themselves, so let's not get ahead of ourselves.
