Send me list of stuff ;) We can do some deals.

Look closely at the post numbers on pages two and three of the GB. Many of them are repeated, as much as seven times. Your post is actually probably closer to being the 150th post than the 109th.

GB thread post numbers lot are the same on page 2/3
Real post count is different and will be higher
You need to physical count each post to see your real post number

well then. there we have it.

so if everyone is cool with this then fine but to me that makes no sense.

for what is the purpose of post numbers if they are not accurate? :wow:

Yeah, it's pretty bizarre. I've seen this same thing happen in two or three prior GBs at this forum. It seems to only happen with GBs that severely overload the servers. It's almost like the system will only assign one number per second, so if seven people post in the same second, they all get the same post number. Hard to believe the site would be programmed that way, though.

Dear Ninjas,

I see a lot of commotion for a steelbook going on. The GB slots are filled; It doesn't mean that its sold out on the web store as well. You have a fair chance to get it from there if you are on time. If you are ordering from your phone, or a string with 2 cans or dialup that is no reason why you should be given special preference.

I also got several messages informing me about people joining multiple GB's (on Facebook and some well known forums). If you think I do not know that you are mistaken; I know all about the raffles/facebook/ebay etc sales and who you are. I personally dont care if you sell your copies from the GB's I host on ebay/craigslist/amazon/flea market/street corner etc;

Also please understand there is no point securing multiples and trying to sell on eBay. I have taken up that role and I highly doubt you will ever beat my prices because if you sell at $100 I will sell at $99 and keep on lowering prices until you get frustrated or end up not selling your "secured spares". Everybody likes some extra free money and I understand that ( I do too, but I am still struggling to be on the positive end of the net proceeds considering the losses I incur).

My suggestion if you secure a GB spot and you really just want to make a few bucks try to help a fellow member on the forum and tell them upfront hey I got this for $100! Its your for $110 if you want it or you can trade me a certain title I am looking for; Maybe they will return the favor to you in the future and you can also avoid eBay fees in the process.

Also I am no longer sorting GB members alphabetically until payments are complete so you can count for yourself that I did not give anyone special preferences over another member. It is in the order of requests 100%. I also do not spend as much time as you think on the forums as you might think to be involved in politics or who does that. As long as you pay on time and dont be difficult you are fine by me (which almost everyone is and I am thankful for that).

On this particular releases I dont have any spares to compete with you on the aftermarket but that could change if I see some listings show up on our favorite sites ;)

Some great suggestions on having retailers check addresses names etc but its not going to happen. Nobody got time for that. Contrary to popular believe I have a job/responsibilities outside of my passion for collecting steelbooks and sixth scale figures so I may not immediately respond to your PM but that doesnt mean I am ignoring you either.

Thanks,
Aniv

Hi Aniv, thanks for your honesty mate!! In full disclosure I tried to get on GB here but failed in case I failed to get on another GB as that one was also oversubscribed and no confirmed list. I am also going to try and get one from the website as I am desperate to get this. If I end up getting more than one copy I will be more than happy to let ninjas know here so they can get a copy

behind this post masked in sarcasm and goofiness lies an important message of wisdom folks. those that would like to see the steelbook market carry on well should read it again and let it sink in.

as you were.

Still we don't have a solid answer on.why the site always becomes too slow. As someone who pays GB fee I am entitled to ask this. Also why there is no tapatalk support? I mean come on guys? It is a real turn off for mobile users.

Also how about splitting the GBs region wise at different.timings based on higher count of user-base countrywise so that the site doesn't slow down?

Americas and Canada
UK and EU
Asia and other countries

How far are you off the 1 click list on the GB? Because of the demand supply issue if anyone doesnt pay by the 14th they will be removed and replaced by members next in line.

I didn't add a waiting list as I doubt there will be anyone that wont pay.

This is because people set specific times for GBs .. and then people come here and mash on F5 and such waiting for refresh. Not gonna spend thousands more per month just to handle those small times when things can be averted. We have another upgrade coming and we also just installed something else that has sped up the site. GB hosts could help themselves and user experience if they took their allocated qty and split it in 2 and then created 2 times. One that catered to USA time zone and one that catered to UK time zone perhaps a few days apart even or whenever it worked for the GB host schedule. This would cut load down.

Tapatalk is coming back, but like other things that are coming they will be thoroughly tested. Expect it this year. Right now there are other things that are just a bit higher up on the pecking order. And they too involve cool things that members will like, or moan about, but such is life.

cool exclusives coming.

LOL i was almost at the end of the GB mate (like the last few to post), so I doubt very much, unless multiple people don't pay, that I can get one from you. I would prefer that the posts before me get the chance first and if you still have spare after then I would be happy  I might still get one from the other GB (fingers crossed) but I will try the website if they don't post a confirmed list

And while we're being candid here ... I dont have any copies. I was sleeping ... but candidly speaking I wouldnt have signed up regardless. The deadpool bare bones steelbook was enough for me. And I liked the movie, but it wasnt like GOTG to me. (huge fan) If i was a huge deadpool fan I'd be more likely to drop the $100 or whatever it takes for the signed slip from RR.

well, as a dedicated steelbooker that has participated in many dozens of GBs, I have to say frankly that I was pretty darn frustrated at noon today. i was ready to go at 11:58 with my message copied to the clipboard and ready to paste. after several minutes of failed refreshes and HDN pages producing error messages and stalling out time and time again, I finally received back a good page from the server to post and... what do ya know... all the while the GB pages were filling up with posts from other users and by the time my comment came through, it was already too late. it's really not an excellent feeling. I was ready, with high speed internet, and yet it was a fail.

Yep, same here, I can echoe your comments with the same experience. Mantalab has a great server with my experience from ordering The Revenant leather slip. As long as we are on the dot and second this comes live I think we should have a good chance. If the server starts break down on us and go nuts on like Nova then it's down to a lottery and the steelbook heavens.

Why not? I'm sure group buy participants will happily foot the bill for the added 'convenience', at least that is what we are lead to believe is the purpose of these group buys.
