The big problem I see with Disney's attitude towards the physical media is that it seems there's no one at the helm!!! I see moments of clarity with the 4K releases of Cinderella or Snow White but there other proporties like
Darby O'Gill or
Something Wicked were released with no restoration, bad color grading and just an abysmal presentation and unimaginative packaging!!! When their old DVD is better quality than thier re-release you know its on auto pilot!!! Just unforgivable!!! And the fact that they have never gone back into their own classic library and ugraded their series like
Swamp Fox, Zorro or El Fuego Baca and given them a Blu ray restored edition show how far out of touch they really are with their customers. 1
With the demise of the Disney Movie Club, Isner and his cronies have lost the love the company once had for physical media. Granted, it's not the booming days that it once was back 15 or even 6 years ago, but there really is no replacment for a phisical copy of a film, in your hand and ready to watch when you want. Streaming is ok, but the quality can vary and can be easily lost in the digital shuffle. But that's just MHO, take it for what it's worth
