Gauging Interest for HDN Group Buys

Pole to gauge possible Interest in HDN Group Buys for Manta Lab and/or WeET, hosted by myself, if @Wreck is amenable.

I am UK based, but the GBs would be open to HDN members worldwide, as they were with my Astro Creations Annihilation GB. TBD whether shipping would be retailer direct, or via a hub.

My preference would be for international orders at least to be shipped direct, if the retailers are willing. If not, I do potentially have hub contacts in CN/SK and EU, which may be an option for non-UK orders (also TBD, will need to discuss with them).

No guarantees or promises. This is purely to gauge interest so that I know if an allocation would be a worthwhile endeavour.

It's already getting near impossible to order directly anymore from Manta as it is with all the other GB's already in place. It's going to get to a stage where they just won't have enough stock to 'go live' anymore.

Surely thats for the producers there to accommodate. I swear, in the years since 2020 with the enshitification of streaming quality and the ongoing inadequacies in regional internet infrastructure, more and more people are switching back to physical media each year. There seems to be way more collectors for these releases than even 2 years ago let alone 5.
The companies should increase their production numbers to accommodate. Shift the boundaries. The limited production numbers should move with the increase in overall community. Rather than get MORE limited than ever before by not increasing production numbers, those market metrics should stay balanced by increasing numbers with market demand. It will still be a limited collectable.

The problem lies with them not really with GBs.

@Flloydo come on man, It's absolutely not about being lazy either. We've all had the scrap to get an order in. I'm sick of retail purchase software bots getting all the stock before 10 seconds are out. It's bs and it bloody happens a lot. Then having to pick up that title for a 25-30% margin on eBay, that's where where I get angry. Not with GBs.

I don’t care if more people collect. These are the numbers manta or whoever put out. If they want to raise them then fair enough but I don’t know why something with a small print run now has to be mass produced because of some new collectors who’s now 10 years past this company starting and has missed every single release of that premium company. Why the f**k would I care about those people lol?

The problem lies with the GBs because you can order on a GB and direct on the day. But the retailers also need to help with this and give GBs a lot less going forward. GBs, the ones that do exist should only have 5-10 copies of each edition. It should be a luxury to be that 1 of 5 people or whatever to use that said GB.

Blufans obviously is a different beast. I don’t agree with it but it’s too far gone. Which is why I’ve also been vocal about Relite doing the same thing

I vote for YES, GB for BOTH Manta Lab AND WeET.

Whomever say it is hard to get from their website directly, they only speak for themselves and clearly have time to allocate EXACTLY at that precise moment (few seconds at a specified time of day in a specified day), which, not all of them can have, all the time.
That's simply why I missed SO MANY GREAT issues from Manta Lab in the last two-three years.

I would also suggest to whomever will host the GB to find a way, to ensure long-standing collectors and members here in HDN have a chance, no matter what time/date the GB will go on (MAYBE some sort of „slot allocation” for a fixed period of time, after which, if the member did not made the purchase, the allocation should go to someone else... a little bit how FAC had with their „collector number” or whatever the name was).
Also I believe that limiting the number of possible purchases for the same member, especially if they purchase the same exact version.

I believe all the above will improve the real collectors chances to purchase, instead of the scalpers.

Yet, the minimum printout of the SteelBook in the first place and of the „exclusives” from various producers (aka Manta, WeET, Blufans, etc.) had remained the same.
It is clear that those amounts are not suited any longer and should increase.
