From IMDB
The Los Angeles Times talked to Dan Aykroyd about Ghostbusters 3 that is in development at Columbia Pictures. Here are several excerpts:

Aykroyd said Sigourney Weaver is on board now, as are the original squad of ectoplasmic specialists -- Aykroyd, Bill Murray, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson.

"We could be in production by winter."

Aykroyd said he wishes Ivan Reitman would return to direct the third film in the series but that he's "too busy as a mega-producer" to take it on; his second choice is Ramis, who, of course, co-wrote the first two "Ghostbusters" films with Aykroyd and has numerous directing credits, most notably "Groundhog Day" and "Analyze This."

The details of story are still in play, but Aykroyd said he's hoping for a five-member "new generation" team with several female members. "I'd like it to be a passing-of-the-torch movie. Let's revisit the old characters briefly and happily and have them there as family but let's pass it on to a new generation."

This trailer was embarrassing, the forced jokes/humour fell flat, it just gave away a plot point, with Mcarthys character, but at least the ghost effects looked good and the return of slimer where welcome.

I won't be seeing this anytime soon. Another Hollywood re-make miss-step.

I'm pretty sure the director will be out in full force soon calling all of us sexist for not liking the trailer. He already came at us about the casting last year.

I wonder if their second trailer will be any better?

I love ghostbusters but.. Will have to see it to make final decision, I do love hearing the music again

McCarthy gets on my toots even in the trailer, so God knows how I'm going to put up with her throughout the entire film. :muted:

She's a very odd one as is that Rebel Wilson, suprised they didn't put both of them in it, and I don't mean weight just odd personalities

Rebel Wilson's sense of humour is so odd that I actually find it funny though, whereas McCarthy just makes me cringe and I can no longer stand seeing her face lol.

I love rebel Wilson. I find her hilarious but McCarthy I only found her funny in bridesmaids and the little bit she was in this is 40. She's actually good in st. Vincent but she's being quite serious in that and does well

I do also love Kirsten wiig though so if I ever watched this it would be for her. She's gold in everything to me

Did you see Rebel's speech at the BAFTAs mate? It was so damn funny!

First time I ever saw McCarthy was in Gilmore Girls, and I liked her character in that... but I've pretty much disliked her in every film I've seen her in since then, and now I can't even stand her in Gilmore Girls any more lol.

Kristen Wiig is awesome! I find her kind of attractive too in a weird sort of way. :p

I like McCarthy when she's normal (beginning of Spy) for example but when she switches to angry redneck mode, it's just not funny

Haha I just watched it, lol what she says to idris. It's that deadpan that I love. It's why I love flight of the conchords too.
Never seen it mate, but yeah I love wiigs humour and she was the scene stealer in anchorman 2 too.
I find her really attractive lol

There is a film of hers I still need to see and it's the one where she's wins that money and creates a games show or something. I think she has mental health problems. And I haven't seen her in the Martian yet either but I doubt she's in a lot

I love that you watch Gilmore Girls @Noodles
Bridesmaids and the like isn't my humour too coarse and frankly for me unfunny just hoping this doesn't go that way, you can be funny without being unpleasant.

Haha yeah, Idris' reaction only made it better too. Never seen any Flight of the Conchords, but maybe it's time I give it a chance then if it uses similar humour. :D

Not sure what film that is mate, but I can't think of any film she's been in where I didn't like her character... she's just too funny and likeable. She was good in The Martian, but there wasn't really any real need for her IMO... she was underused.

It's not usually something I confess to anyone to be honest lol. Haven't watched it in a long time... and I only really used to watch it if it was on TV back in the day and I had nothing better to do. Still kind of excited about the show returning to TV though. :p

The humour in Bridesmaids didn't really do anything for me either. Wiig was practically the only thing I liked about it... oh, and Chris O'Dowd! :)
