From IMDB
The Los Angeles Times talked to Dan Aykroyd about Ghostbusters 3 that is in development at Columbia Pictures. Here are several excerpts:

Aykroyd said Sigourney Weaver is on board now, as are the original squad of ectoplasmic specialists -- Aykroyd, Bill Murray, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson.

"We could be in production by winter."

Aykroyd said he wishes Ivan Reitman would return to direct the third film in the series but that he's "too busy as a mega-producer" to take it on; his second choice is Ramis, who, of course, co-wrote the first two "Ghostbusters" films with Aykroyd and has numerous directing credits, most notably "Groundhog Day" and "Analyze This."

The details of story are still in play, but Aykroyd said he's hoping for a five-member "new generation" team with several female members. "I'd like it to be a passing-of-the-torch movie. Let's revisit the old characters briefly and happily and have them there as family but let's pass it on to a new generation."

Here is the inside of the flap. Does this scream "I am the Blockbuster movie to beat this summer"?
Does this tell you to "Run, Don't walk" to the theater to see it?
Does it say "Step aside Batman, Superman, Cap and Iron man - real box office awesome is here!!"?
Or does this say "I may be THE trainwreck film of the decade...and maybe the worst cinematic miscalculation of the Century"? Go on Paul Feig - call us all idiots and Misogynists again. That's the way to win us over....
(Take a good long look at that cover. It looks like 4 female Jerry Lewis impersonators freed from a mental ward!)

Oh dear, it's getting worse

The gig and selfie moment!

I'll say it again but if I ever watch this it will be for wiig

Slimer is the only thing that looks any good

Also is that the marshmallow man or the ghost from the classic sign at the end?

If it's the marshmallow man then it's a cop out just on that moment alone and they can't think of anything original and have to copy the 1st film
And if it's a giant ghost from the sign then it's a cop out on that moment and can't think of anything original lol basically my point is they can't think of anything original for this

The Ghost from the logo is the villian.

I'm not one who hated the idea of the film because it is a reboot but the two trailers have all but confirmed my concerns. First the trend of simply remarking films with all female casts is getting old, it just seems like a lazy formula to push a rehashed product. Even since they decided the all female cast was the way to go there was such a great opportunities to continue the story from the first film for this new generation. Before anyone says it, yes I know I haven't seen the completed product but from what I've seen expectations are low. Come on Hollywood, get creative, if you can't come up with original content at least try to make a fresh take on it.

Based on the ghost from The Real Ghostbusters intro. I actually think it's a nice idea to make the logo ghost the villain. Certainly preferable for taking the lazy option and using Stay Puft Marshmallow Man again (as awesome as Stay Puft is).
