Lol so dumb. Buy a standard and then from 12th when you start to install you can purchase the ultimate to add on lol. So rêtarded. I refuse to believe there isn’t a collectors edition coming with physical items

I really don't get it. Choose to go back to Vice City in an attempt to pull all those back in who now have families or may have even hung up their gaming pads... just to say no collectors edition, no disc & the physical version is a code in a box?? It's just a ridiculous notion the more you think about it. People are going to spoil, mod and jailbreak your game eventually... that's kind of the point of a successful game played by a magnitude of people. If those things don't happen to your game, it kind of means no one cares enough anyway.

rockstar has generated almost 14 billion in revenue from gta 5 over 12 years. by way of comparison, it took capcom 30 years to generate 10 billion in revenue from the entire resident evil series.

Just how greedy can a company get?

funny... they spend money for the cases, the covers and the sealing, but are too greedy to spend a further 50 cents on the disc.

Don’t get me wrong I get the delay on PC. Because of modding. F**k PC gamers anyway but yeah fully in the same boat. It’s so you can’t resell it. It’s all money. Not so it leaks early by a week. Every f**king thing except Eminem albums since 2001 leak early ffs. Just ignore the leaks

You wait. It'll be 30fps on all consoles bar the 5Pro. Rather than developing the game at 60fps for current systems, Rockstar can sell you the patched version when the next gen PS6 and XBox Helix drop in 2027.
They will have deliberately made this version - the current gen version - 30fps, to sell you 60fps down the line when they clearly could have done it now.

Someone on another forum I'm on said they were told a physical collectors/limited edition was coming and they were surprised there was no mention of it yet. I don't know if they work with a retailer or knew an insider but they said they're guessing if it's still happening that it'll be announced pretty late on before release. Only thing is R* did release a CE for Red Dead Redemption 2 and it ended up being something like $200 and didn't even contain the game (and tbh I thought it looked kind of rubbish personally). I have no interest in pre-ordering a digital product as it's pointless until the week so I'm also waiting.

Yeah I’ll just wait it out. That was my plan. Digital won’t sell out haha. I mean all I’ve seen is theories and people saying they know what’s coming. It was 6 editions 3 weeks ago. Then 5. 7 the other day. Blah blah all speculation but I genuinely believe there will be something. Imagine if you don’t even get a map in the physical case. There’s no mention of it lol.

Really I just want the case, map and steel. But I’d take a collectors with some other bits. I didn’t know that about Red Dead though. With no game I mean. That could very well happen here tbh. Collectors edition separately with no game. Ffs

I personally liked the RDR2 one to be honest, it had a lot of cool replicas from the game and I know you mentioned it didn't include the game but their website allowed you to chose the collectors box and bundle it with the Ultimate Edition (the steelbook version) which was physical. They did it this way so people could pick the platform of their choice or allowed digital only games to just buy the collectors edition. It worked out cheaper than most collectors editions today that don't even have a physical disc included.

I'm hoping GTAVI does get one, I can't believe after all this time waiting and for one of their biggest franchises they aren't doing anything special for it, I'm hoping the collectors edition includes a physical disc or at least a steelbook which we can put a future release they do if they decide to do a physical disc later down the line.

They did it this way so people could pick the platform of their choice or allowed digital only games to just buy the collectors edition. It worked out cheaper than most collectors editions today that don't even have a physical disc included.
