It's been five years since Hiccup and Toothless successfully united dragons and vikings on the island of Berk. While Astrid, Snoutlout and the rest of the gang are challenging each other to dragon races (the island's new favorite contact sport), the now inseparable pair journey through the skies, charting unmapped territories and exploring new worlds. When one of their adventures leads to the discovery of a secret ice cave that is home to hundreds of new wild dragons and the mysterious Dragon Rider, the two friends find themselves at the center of a battle to protect the peace. Now, Hiccup and Toothless must unite to stand up for what they believe while recognizing that only together do they have the power to change the future of both men and dragons. Why aren't more people talking about this film!?

Saw it tonight, for me it is like the Empire Strikes Back of animated movies. The first one was great but this one is more mature and steps things up. It might be my favorite animated movie!

Guys, GO CHECK THIS MOVIE OUT! Not not just a kids flick. It's good. (Just be sure to watch the first one first)

no ones talking about it because its so awesome no amount of words can be used to describe it

seriously though i loved it, saw it opening night last week and everything about it was well crafted. The growth of the characters, the dragons, landscape, everything about this movie was on a larger scope than the first. I personally thought the tone of the first film was better but enjoyed this one just as much. Check it out folks, you wont be disappointed :scat:

This is probably an unpopular opinion but I was kinda underwhelmed with this sequel. May be due to how amazing Kung Fu Panda 2 was to 1, I was hoping this was going to be even better than the first Dragon and raise the bar.

+ All dragon stuff from the designs and flying to them messing around in the background while human characters in the foreground talked.
+ Most of Hiccup's character development.
- forgettable villain, he was evil just because he was evil (he shows his missing arm but it wasn't really explored).
- all supporting cast, particularly the kids were just fillers and gags, doesnt add much to the story.
- how the father kinda dies out of nowhere as he had less screen time in this movie, felt like it was there just to stab at your heart because they JUST had their family reunion.
- mind controlling alpha dragon, i mean alpha dominances in animal is fine but just plain mind controlling seems lazy, just to have Toothless to kill the father.
- WHICH then was resolved fairly quickly.

Hiccup however aged very well.
