Being a Japanese steel enthusiast, I wanted to open the floor to everyone who wants to talk about anything Japanese steels.

Share pics (cause mine are terrible quality), ask questions, and maybe learn a thing or two. Heck I wouldn't even think there'd be a problem if you have any really cool slipcovers to

Maybe somebody will even start threads for other countries :)

Hope to hear from y'all soon!

Mike

MADE IN JAPAN Steelbooks

Hi guys,

I've been thinking for some time to start up a thread where we can discuss about the steelbooks that are "Made in Japan". And I've finally got the time to do so. So, basically we'll try to concentrate only on the ones which are made in Japan and not every Japanese steel.

Being a quality freak, I keep Japanese steels at #1. Their build quality, printing quality, slips, etc. are always a class apart. They are at a certain level and I think this thread would be a nice way to appreciate their beauty .

(Will post rules later ;)).

Great thread Mike!

I would do that gladly. If I had a keyboard :hilarious:

But from what I hear we could just contact Elena and get pics along with the list :p

I'm working on it, wait for it, it's gonna be legendary! :hilarious:

Just kidding guys, I haven't have all of them, still missed 2 - 3 titles, and I'm not collect their anime steels :)

I read the list on the OP, maybe you can add Machete single release, and snow white box set which is limited 500

Thanks

Thanks Aprilarrow, I updated my list in an earlier post Slimjim. Why did you mention Terminator again? Is there a fourth?

-Terminator
-T2 v1
-T2 v2

Yeah, mate, my bad, I missed that. That's all there is...

Great thread Mike!

Good spot, Denny! I am missing a few too, but I will look to post all my JP steels this weekend.

This is getting really interesting.
I hope this thread is pure admiring and move away from sensitive topic like market price or value of certain release.

I agree, bro, let's just "enjoy" each other's collection, keep market value and rarity out of the picture :scat:

Thanks for the pictures mate. I never saw that because my copy is still sealed ;).

The discs are made in Japan, BUT not the Steelbook.

But where are these made then?.

Because one thing's for sure, this one is different from the European Battleship steels (Germany, UK, etc.) because having both, I can tell that the print quality on the JP steel has a better contrast and a deep color as compared to the German one.

@The Rainmaker

This is what Wreck stated, "US release I believe was printed in US .. that or denmark. Japan release was printed in Asian (china or hong kong cant remember right now without checking) factory. Asian rep sold that run so probably sold with diff finish."

I'm assuming the quality control is different.

Wow, I've actually for about 30 of that list (including pre-orders)! Will try to take some pics tomorrow... Would love Thor and IM2 - one day they will be mine! Impossible to find though, or I don't know where to look...

Don't open your vault bro! Otherwise I will bugging you again :hilarious:

Once he open his vault, my collection is consider beginner.. LOL

Buddies, we are all equals. Not just you and me, all of us.

And Alex, to me, you are always the Godfather of steels in Singapore. That will never change.

I'll PM you my address to post them to bud :p;)

Can't wait to see everyone's pics. This is turning into a very promising thread

Mate, yes, a few of us on whatsapp with one another are very happy that Slimjim started this thread, and each of us vow to just enjoy this thread, to admire each other's collection, to encourage each other, to help one another out. No jealousy, no envy, no saying (or worse still, thinking) "where did you get that, you bast?" in any negative way. That's the spirit of HDN as Wreck and the mods wanted it to be...I have to admit that has changed a little on some of the other threads, and hence I have cut down on my postings, but with this "new generation" threads, I am most happy to be actively a part of the community again...

Well said. I agree to these principals too ;). Now I'm off shopping for some lovely JP steels

Another Thor JP was added and sold from one of our members sales thread this morning. I guess you just have to log on at the right time.

Y'all are right though, we'll keep price out of it.

Please bare with me as I have class all day today. But later I will do some research and try to update the list as accurately as I can.

Thanks for all the input

Alex, very nice collection. Glad people are giving their JP steels some attention :)
