VHS is now sold out.
And Its Gone GIF by South Park

Didn’t Dogma do something like 10K before they did a 2nd pressing? And this is in a whole other league, I love Dogma but people eat up anything Tarantino and so many have been waiting a while for this. I’d believe 40K.
There were at least 80,000 copies of Dogma steelbook, they've added it 5 times.

Really, is there something to distinguish the original batch of Dogma copies, or any of there many titles they do this with to the copies that are from the additional pressings?

I’m not surprised they sold so many copies of Dogma it had been out of print for a very long time on blu-ray.

I’m glad I decided to grab my VHS copy of Kill Bill, I hope the box turns out nice I liked the art, felt a bit odd buying my first VHS in 30 years!

Would’ve loved the VHS but it’s a bit of an expensive gimmick for overseas buyers. Looks cool though. Genuinely can’t remember what the last VHS was that I would’ve bought. I would’ve been around 13/14. Probably one of those Simpsons or South Park versions with 4 or 5 episodes on

The Lionsgate steels usually have a first pressing text on the spine where you open it, not sure if the additional pressings retained this or not.

I really don't understand the apparent demand for VHS editions, and now they're sold out?

What is it, nolstalgia or summat? Can't be for the inferior quality surely.

People on here still own VHS players/recorders?

It’s just another proof that nostalgia may be stronger than logic. It’s the same nostalgia that makes people buy vinyl records. You can have a better quality with digital files, but listening to vinyls have that kind of vintage feeling you’ll never get with full digital.
You can be sure of one thing: most of these VHS will remain sealed. Video will fade away before anyone will put in in a VHS player.

I still have a VHS player. But didn’t take it out of its box since at least 16 years.

Was thinking: in a few years, man will tell the same about us, steelbooks and limited editions collectors.

I know what you're saying, I do and always have bought vinyl records and CDs after all, BUT I just do not miss the bad quality, after all VHS cassettes are just video versions of the old music cassettes used to get and play. Which I did. So it's basically tape which can stretch and tangle up if you are unlucky, a time which I do not want to go back to lol

I've always assumed as long as it's not something that just doesn't exist on a more modern format that it's just treated as a collectible, like slabbed comics/cards or NiB sneakers, never to be used.

I'm expecting the resale prices of the VHS tape to be stupidly high given how quickly it sold out, it's novel sure but I really don't see the point in paying a premium for it.

I can't see the point in paying for them at all quite honestly lol I know I won't be lol and you're paying at a premium just to look at them, yes? So they sit on your shelf looking pretty, taking up room you could have for more box sets and other loveliness, hmm

I can picture a copy as a background prop in some influencers set but for everyone else? Dunno but long may it continue while I'm selling off my last couple of boxes of VHS tapes. ;)
