Vancouver (Canada - British Columbia) Tuesday, 16 July 2013, 05:00:00 PDT UTC-7 hours
New York (U.S.A. - New York) Tuesday, 16 July 2013, 08:00:00 EDT UTC-4 hours
Paris (France) Tuesday, 16 July 2013, 14:00:00 CEST UTC+2 hours
Corresponding UTC (GMT) Tuesday, 16 July 2013, 12:00:00

-1x copy per slipcover (2x copies for slipcover was sold out too fast like 7 min, That's why kimchi put more restriction for quarter slip release)
-5x copies per lenticular

here is technical problem solved so far

after you pay via paypal, you will automatically return to main page of kimchidvd and you can go to order page to check if your order is completed.

(previous kimchi, does not provide automatic payment completed by paypal, only kimchi handle one by one to complete order by manually matched with paypal transaction. it's kind of big burden and many problem happened)

and another announcement for shipping

Small packet is removed, K-packet applied for all of item sold in kimchidvd
K-packet is slightly expensive than small packet but there is lots of benefits

- Printed slip with tracking number
- End-to-End tracking with delivery confirmation (No lost shipment)
- Reasonable cost than EMS
- generally takes 5-15 days (EMS: 5-10 days, Small packet 15 -35 days)

but some member are curious why kimchidvd changed shipping method

From T2 kimchi release, Kimchi handled more than 1,000 box to ship out to post office KR, this is a big volume of post office KR to handle only for one store.

so post office does not allow kimchi to accept small packet any more :(
and asked kimchi to change K-packet rather than small packet due to too many package in one or two day.

after changed of k-packet, pack & shipping process is much more faster than small packet and very reliable shipping method in terms of tracking.

even now, some of member did not received T2 kimchi after shipping process done at 26th June because no tracking available for small packet.

1 or 2 steelbook for shipping charge between small packet & k-packet is only difference around 2$

please kindly understand kr post office policy for massive volume of shipment like over 1,000 boxes and more powerful tracking for lost shipment protection.

Thanks

5x limit per order for lenticular

Sounds a little like Silkscreen to me ;)

Silkscreen lacquer is thick and dries high on the surface of SteelBook’s metal surface – approx. 0,1mm. This creates a great visual and tactile effect. Silkscreen can be tinted with color, and can be printed with the same high degree of control that we can achieve with offset print. Please notice that we can only print silkscreen within a specified boundary on the case.

It's not a silkscreen finish because it can only be applied to a defined area, not the whole steelbook.

WOW!!!!! This beautiful, AMAZING!!!!!! EEK! EEK! EEK! EEK! EEK!

I think Kimchi just tried too hard for this release. In the end,i'm not sure if it really pulled it off. This probably ranks below the other exclsuives they've had.The colors just didn't end up being vsiually vibrant compared to the stock photos from the very beginning.I also had some quality control issues with the one i opened up.There's a very obvious manufacturer's indentation on the bottom corner and a few paint chips as well.Wonder what they're policy is for this release since there's no more remaining stock.

Send them back and get a refund, they won't have any trouble getting rid of them. :p

I'd be pissed if I was someone who bought this on ebay as a pre-order from someone for over $100 like I have seen going on. This is one reason I don't do pre-orders. I want my clients to be happy with me. :scat:

I pre-ordered both of these from KimchiDVD and I'd be pissed if I paid over $100 for either one.

I'd also be pissed if someone I bought from on eBay kept canceling their auctions before the end time/date. :p

Kimchidvd only sells foreign users.

Hey, I don't want to be sold! But if I were to be sold, I'm sure I'd be a grail :).

Anyway, what I take from the last 3 pages is that I guess I have a very high tolerance for steelbooks because I love what I'm seeing, I'm not following the herd on this one :D.

I've ordered the lenticular (as always ), I think the pics look good, I love the art chosen, and I don't think I'll be disappointed. Can't wait to have it — this steelbook's status has changed from "payment completed" to "waiting for shipping" (I ordered it on July 17), and that's cool (cool, cool, cool).

Mine has a two scratches on the front below the text, and a few paint chips. Also a dent on the back. I've resigned to the fact that its impossible to get a flawless steelbook nowadays. When I first started collecting steelbooks I would get irate with any imperfection. Now, I just don't care.

That is definitely not a crackle finish. Definitely looks glossy but what type I'm not sure without seeing it in hand.

I've never seen such a finish like this before, and from all the comments neither have anyone else. Here's a completely speculative thought.

[SPECULATION]
The sides of the steelbook do not have the gloss layer applied to it. Based on this observation, I think the matte finish was first applied to it in error. Then instead of reproducing another batch they simply added the high gloss finish on the top and bottom of the steelbook. The sides left untouched. This would explain the awful streak effect from using the matte finish but also that its glossy. It would also explain why this was delayed.
[/SPECULATION]

I was really hoping for Cars 2 like gloss finish. Similar blue colours but the finish on that is just so sexy.

+1 w/ all that, and mine's "waiting for shipping" now as well :)
I can't tolerate a big, deep scratch or an obvious dent, but small imperfections don't usually drive me crazy
I always have 16 SteelBooks lined up in front of my home theater & towers about 7 feet away from my couch & most of the pseudo-nitpicky things ppl complain about you probably wouldn't even see from this distance :emb:
Having said that, Scanavo is like every other company out there...
There's always room for improvement, and I'm confident that they recognize this & will continue to improve w/ regards to the finished product

Received my order today in the NE of the USA...ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL! Lenticular has astonishing depth!

As for numbers, on the quarter slip I got 25, and on the lenticular, 160.

By all means, send 'em back..they'll have no problem reselling them! :hilarious:

Such a nice guy...:D

But seriously why are members here disappointed with this particular release.....:dunno:

Probably because everyone got spoiled by the $15 Iron Man Play last year. That was an aberration and nobody should expect to get anything like that again as a loss leader. I gurantee Play lost money on those releases.
