Not sure i this is the right place to start this thread so feel free to move.

Someone posts a Pic from a movie and people have to guess where its from, the one whos right, posts another pic from a movie which people have to guess and so on and so on.

Yeah, I agree it does look pretty lame by today's standards, but the robot is actually the one that was later used in "Lost in Space" as Robby the Robot.

The rest of the special effects in Forbidden Planet are actually very good for the late 50's. Especially the saucer landing scenes and the attack of the invisible "Id" monster, which was animated by Walt Disney's animators but not credited as such. FP is one of my favourite sci-fi films - after "This Island Earth" of course!
