(Possible) List of 2013 Upcoming Future Shop SteelBooks™

Hey folks - I've gotten the approval from Future Shop to publish the following list, as of 1/23/2013

Please note that the titles below are NOT guaranteed to be steelbooks or 100% confirmed, but a number of them are looking like they will be.

Obviously this is very advance information, since many titles are not yet published even in theatres, so please take this announcement with a bit of reservation.

I hope all members will find this information helpful.

I should have advance pictures of the Hobbit to share in the next couple of days.

May I ask why the Iron man 3 thread was suspended? Play had/ have a sign up link for the steelbook. Maybe they got the rights along with 1 & 2? The justification was that it was all conjecture, it wasn't, but it seemed a much firmer basis then the one we have here if they've not even finished filming? Have the studios even agreed to this?

Now that theres a Les Miserables steelbook announcement for FS, it looks like the list is in the order that these steels will be released. My guess is The Hobbit will be the next steel announced for FS. Good times!

I think we Canadians really don't know how lucky we are. Future Shop has been giving us these exclusives for years now. What a treat! I feel like a part owner of my store.

I would definitely buy it if that was the case - you know it would be worth a fortune down the line!!! Most expensive steelbook ever, particularly after it gets recalled when FS realize what they've done! And it would likely be unique artwork...

That's what I'm hoping for! Super rarez!


I'm interested in how everyone is voting. I'm not shocked with the want for im3 but I am with man of steel

Iron Man 2 was a Paramount title and Paramount hasn't done a lot in steel in North America lately.

Star Trek 2 was mentioned specifically to me yesterday, as it would be the first Paramount title in a long time to get a steelbook and it seemed like they were working pretty hard on it.

But I don't know the internal dynamic of FS - I can only pass on what I'm told.

I really hope they make a Star Trek 2 steel, I was so disappointed when I read 'thejord' saying it was unlikely...
They should please the trekies.

Thor 2 is a Disney title, so I'd think that would be very unlikely to happen given Disney North America's aversion to steelbook - but heck, maybe that will change now that Viva is gone.

The other two haven't been requested by FS yet, so stay tuned.

I bets its going to be called "O-Card packaging" from Alliance like the Drive release hence "special packaging".

I really, really wanted a ZDT steel.
