At the very least it’s not pop art....... but it’s still crap art!

WEA release my arse FA!

Got be honest, over the last year and a half, the quality of arts, finishes etc on steels have totally nosedived and the constant rereleases of movies that have had the steel treatment already is making this hobby less exciting.

Has to be said.

I hate this artwork and awful artworks like this are a new trend of major labels like Fox and Sony (the recent DIE HARD Steelbook for example).
I hope Filmarena say no to Fox because this is not the art PREDATOR deserves.

Further, the Predator in the background is not the Predator from the movie. This is a picture of the Hot Toys Jungle Hunter 1:6 figure.
How silly is this, they use a figure for a movie artwork?

Why they don't hire Paul Shipper? He made this very nice artwork and worked for Disney and Shout Factory.

'Bout time we had an interesting PREDATOR steelbook ... and this could finally be it

Thankfully steelbooks keeping on trend and not sticking with the same ol' photoshopped poster art formula on everything as was the case back in the day ... and for a good while after.
Variety being the spice of life ... there's no way that steelbooks can ever be considered boring with all the different styles out there and to combat collector lethargy we've even had various fads including a score in slipcases and another score with lenticular magnets but it's the steelbook itself that should count and this is one that will count just as much as the similarly colourful upcoming FIGHT CLUB steelbook ...plus maybe won't look out of place next to THE PREDATOR if that comes in similar Illustrated Art style.

Of course it's disingenuous to state that steelbook art is going downhill or that one can't buy steelbooks in any other style but Illustrated or Pop as there have been a ton of great-looking "classic" steelbooks released in the UK alone over the past few years ... as well as a ton of great-looking Illustrated steelbooks including stunning examples from Arrow, Shout, Turbine Media etc.

You know what is really boring?
Releasing the same titles over and over again with different covers.
Variety is not so much the spice of life, as it is a cash-in.

Total non-starter argument ... what with new collectors appearing daily understandably not wishing to pay inflated eBay prices for past now OOP releases.
As for another PREDATOR steelbook - brilliant! We've had the regular Blu-ray + we've had the 3D option and now logically we've got the next format 4K UHD option. What's not to like?
