NEW UPDATE 8/13/2013:
We have a short update on the finish details for our 2 exclusive Star Trek Into Darkness steelbooks. Both the steelbook in the Villain Edition and the Hero Edition steelbook will have debossed title treatments and be matte finishes. We had some fantastic ideas for the “special packaging” we promised for the Hero Edition, but unfortunately the time constraints of turning this around in just over a month before the release date meant that none of them were possible. The Entertainment Store exclusive sticker that has been on our previous releases will be on these releases too, and we can only apologise for being able to make the Hero Edition special rather than extra special.

All is not lost though – some of the special packaging we had planned for Star Trek Into Darkness will be present on our next release, which we will be announcing exclusively via HDN on Tuesday 20th August. You won’t be disappointed, I promise!

Star Trek Into Darkness – The Villain Edition (Entertainment Store Exclusive)
Deluxe packaging featuring a 1:50 scale model of the USS Vengeance alongside a stunning 2D and 3D blu-ray plus digital copy steelbook. Limited to 4,000 copies and available exclusively from The Entertainment Store. Final packaging, steelbook finish, embossing, release date and pricing TBC.

PREVIOUS UPDATES
From our friends at Entertainment Store in the UK:
The Entertainment Store Boldly goes where other E-tailers cannot

The fastest growing Entertainment E-tailer on the Marketplace, The Entertainment Store, continues its strong exclusive packaging offering in September 2013 with the introduction of 2 2D and 3D Blu Ray Steelbooks for Star Trek: Into Darkness Home Entertainment release.

The limited edition Steelbooks are limited to 4,000 copies each, and will be available to Pre-order from The Entertainment Store on Play.com from midday Friday July 19th 2013.

Since its arrival in March 2013 The Entertainment Store has been working closely with Paramount Home Entertainment and have already teamed up to bring us exclusive Blu Ray SKUs such as GI Joe and Hansel and Gretel but this latest batch of releases look to be the most interesting yet. The E-tailer distributes product directly from the Studio warehouses so the product is guaranteed as authentic and of the highest quality.

Well mine came via TNT courier. They don't deliver Saturdays so if its a three day delivery, then the dates work out right, entertainment store would request a pick up on Tuesday, they would pick up on Wednesday, then deliver on Monday, the date it is released,
I'm happy I got it today, packaging was superb, and can't wait to watch it later, 10/10 for me anyways, x

I plan to leave negative feedback for them on the Play website as they clearly lied about dispatch dates. I suggest you do likewise, especially if your invoice says anything except Tuesday 27th August 2013. Maybe they'll learn a lesson from that.

My invoice says 30 August, but i received shipping notice much earlier in the week.

The model is very cheap, light plastic, design is poor, overall an extra £20 for that is definitely not worth it.

I know it's limited, blah blah blah, but this would be acceptable at a price point of maybe £29.99 to £34.99 IMHO.

Oh yeah, and TNT delivered mine 3 doors down, despite the address clearly displayed of my address.

Unbelievable. How can you say they have clearly lied? It really is ridiculous, some members expect retailers to perform miracles. Let's remember that today is the release date, delivery a couple of days either side is fair in my opinion. I can't believe that you think you have valid grounds for leaving negative feedback.

Well if they claim to have dispatched on the 27th and its obvious that they shipped on the 30th that is a lie, bull shine or however you may like to call it.

I'm not joking or being sarcastic but I feel really bad for the people who payed £45 for this. The model is a joke. Not good entertainment store, not good.

That model looks absolutely AWFUL!! Mine has shipped but hasn't arrived yet...I think I am going to refuse it on arrival, and request a refund from ES

Really poor show ES, really poor!

Today's haul

Steelbooks

Not impressed with the Star Trek steels. The finish is poor. The Villan ship version has a very low resolution picture too. The Amazon version is better out of the two.

UK - Star Trek into Darkness Villan Ship ES Exclusive

Not impressed with the ship. Pretty poor quality. Worse of the 3 I've got.

Smart Shopper! ;)

That price is way to crazy for me for a single, new, catalouge release. I'll pass :hilarious:

Way to over priced. I thought they had improved with Nightmare Before Christmas being cheaper. I'll pass.

I want ever pixar film other than cars 2. Hopefully with the image's on the spine, they're starting to look great lined up. If they're priced dead on £15 or below I'll buy all of them.

Managed to pick one up today at my local cex for £2 after trading in 3 old games that I never play. Really pleased to have this :thumbs:

If that's true, which I think it is. I doubt many of the films will sell out. They obviously intend to make many more disney films, why not price them fairly?

£23 is just rediculous. I doubt many other than collectors will preorder this as the main target audience is kids regardless of the fact that I enjoyed this movie. My first steelbook and probably many others was bought because I was going to buy the amaray and then upgraded to the steel instead and then I got hooked. Only collectors will buy this and even then some wont like me for example.

I cancelled my order of this. 27 quid is too much for a bad film regardless of how nice the steel is. There's so many on ebay it wont be too hard to get one if I fall in love with the steel with real life pictures. I just wish this artwork was exclusive and for a better film.

I love it when films aren't exclusive! Hopefully somewhere the price will be decent. :hilarious:

I would honestly send this back if I'd paid £45 for it. You'd have to pay return postage to ES but at least you wouldn't be £45 out of pocket and feeling genuinely ripped off.

Well, more like 10 ships for a £1. In my photo, the one on the left was £1.99 with a mag from whsmith and it is die cast and feels good quality, unlike the plastic bendy es c&@?

Yh I brought the same eaglemoss Star Trek ship from my local newsagent and was happy with the quality.

I really wanted this version but the price put me of and the cheap £1.99 model with the hero steel seemed like a good alternative.

Mine arrived today (but no hero version yet - even though something I ordered from Germany was despatched a day later and has managed to get here already - but I digress)

First thoughts - genuinely underwhelmed. Kudos to ES for great photography, making the package look more exciting than it actually is but in hand the whole package seems a bit like one of those christmas gift sets with a couple of shower gels and one of those bath sponges that takes up lots of room in the box - except they forgot to put the bath sponge in

I'm sure I'll grow to love it but at the moment......
