We all complain about how bad the Nova servers are. How about HDN servers which are still still slow and sluggish when compared to BD website especially when there is a Group Buy of a popular title produced in limited quantities. So can we Ninjas boldly ask if the GB fees are spent on upgrading HDN infrastructure? Apologies if I sounded rude but as someone who is paying GB fees I think I am entitled to ask.

i already thought part of the fees went towards that?
can a moderator openly answer this???

i literally spend lots of hard earned money on here yearly via group buys so i would hope some (HDN Fees) of it goes towards infrastructure as well as the Upkeep :D.

I'm convinced Novamedia is perfectly happy that their releases cause so much chaos. In fact, it's probably their MO. It's free publicity 101. It just boggles my mind that there are no US retailers doing premium steels like these. Best we can do is Best Buy? Boring as f**K steelbooks with WWA.

Same. Completely astonished how the giants like HMV or Zavvi in the UK can't do these bells and whistles exclusives like these Asian companies. The only group in Europe that occasionally does a WEA of that caliber is FilmArena based in Czech Republic ... whats the secret ? I don't get it.

I've said it before but I would love a UK company to create packages like nova, kimchi, PA, Zeta, FA etc but I'm not sure id pick zavvi.

We all know they put these together themselves in their office or workplace and use white gloves etc. Can't see zavvi or Hmv doing that.
But I would love someone in the UK to do it and do it properly like the Giants already out there

I know it was Nova Choice

The main problem that caused the checkout issues yesterday was 1,200 units of the 2,000 print run was taken up with the One-Click leaving very little stock for individual orders of a Full Slip or a Lenti on their own to order
Various GB with different web forums also took a lot of this left over units leaving a crazy small amount of stock left for customers to order direct

Lot of customers adding to cart either Full Slip A or B or a Lenti on its own and the amount cart entries was way beyond what was available causing the website major problems to get to payment section on the website

For this release there should have been no one-click at all with a print run of only 2,000

All 2,000 should have been available to order individually as either Full Slip A or B or the Lenti
The website would still have issues because they lack the proper setup to handle high internet traffic but the checkout issues would have been less bad and still involved luck

Other releases One Click can be ok as long as it not the majority of the stock but this was a crazy idea for Star Wars having 1,200 in a one click it meant only one outcome not enough units available to order individual version and causing major issues getting to checkout

so if you break it down then :

Group Buy - 458 copies for HDN
-----------
1-Click (348) : 116
Full Slip Type 1 : 35
Full Slip Type 2 : 35
Lenticular Slip : 40

Leaving the Nova Store with - 1542 copies in total
----------------------------------
1-Click (852) : 284
Full Slip Type 1 : 165
Full Slip Type 2 : 165
Lenticular Slip : 360

i guess they thought that would be sufficient for a Nova choice comparing it to 2k Ant-man & Avengers, Wen it should have been a 1- Click set at 150 - 200.
who know what runs through their minds when they come up with these :D

Dredd (NE#008) - 2 PET Fullslip + 1 lenticular Slip + 1 Extra lenticular magnet
-------------------------------------
1-Click $180.53 including all fees and 2 way shipping << Group Buy $32.94 more than nova
1-Click $147.59 including all fees and Direct Shipping << Nova Store

I don't remember getting extra magnet. Was it separately packaged?

Glad I decided to pass on this one... nothing but issues, as expected.

Sorry to see so many of you missed out. :(

But HDN was not the only place hosting a GB for these editions...

There was multiple Group Buys with various web forums and also hidden Facebook GB that only a few know about and also resellers who were pre allocated copies
The actual amount available for individual copies of a Full Slip or Lenti was very small amount

There should not have been 400 one clicks imo for star wars all those 1,200 units should have been available to purchase on their own
There should have been all 2,000 units available to purchase direct from nova website split between each version and no GB done for this release considering it was Star wars
If all the stock had of been available to order direct there would have been 2,000 happy customers instead only a few hundred got to place an order that's the difference and reason why the checkout and website had problems

Customers should not have to purchase a One Click at all if they want all 3 add to the cart or order separately especially for very high demand releases
Majority of customers want only 1 version be it a Full Slip or the Lenti some will want all 2 versions and some all 3

On Friday May 27th there should have been the total 2,000 copies available for customers to order direct and not only have 200-300 possible orders
The One Click was an very bad idea for a release like Star Wars with the demand it creates as it needs the supply to meet the demand

Star Wars is a lot bigger than the Marvel Films in terms of demand

Also one of my concerns are people who are joined to multiple GBs and then also ordering from the site

Although I managed to get one i think it's harsh that some people do that stoping others from getting a copy.

If there was no GBs for these more people who actually wanted a copy would of had a better chance and less chance for resellers and scalpers being greedy.
But the catch 22 of that would be it would've probaly taken an extra hour to get one on the site.

Nova just need to sort their sodding servers out.

I managed to see some of the facebook comments and I can't find any extremely rude messages or harsh ones. All the ones I read were valid and not much use of fowl language except aimed at their attempt of getting one or all calling their servers sh*t for example which they are.
Not any direct name calling or use of harsher words like "c*nt" but then I didn't see them all.

This probably won't stop me from (trying) ordering civil war and future marvel films but in my honest opinion they deserve every negative comment they get. They always have from the day I ordered my first one - guardians of the Galaxy. I know what to expect, their servers were sh*t then and sh*t now but they still deserve the backlash

The main problem is their servers, not the GB. Do you think more traffic during the ordering process is going to help that? Even with the small stock as you put it, it still took over an hour to sell out, do to their servers not being able to handle the traffic. So until they improve their servers it doesn't matter if they have 500 or 5000, the ordering process is always going to be hectic on popular releases.

I admit in a perfect world i would prefer to order direct, as i have in the past with Nova, but enough is enough. So until Nova upgrades their servers, i will go with the GB if available, and save the hassle.

I think Novamedia should stop this illusion of direct order. Since they are unwilling to upgrade their servers why don't they just be done with it and just sell through GB. This halfway house situation is just bullshit.

BD forum will come to a halt when Blufans version goes live. Hopefully not as bad as Novas website though.

That will NEVER happen. Their servers easily handled Blufans Frozen which currently holds the record for fastest GB ever :)
They have the resources to easily do it.
This Nova package looks sweet, though I think print run should have be a lil higher cos it's such a high demand item
