Gona wait to see the finish. If it’s better than the zavvi version in terms of finish then I’ll go for it but if it’s flat and matte I’ll pass. Plus June is too soon for me for another £30 order

No way is the finish beating the original steel. Smooth matte, spot gloss and embossing.
Bet this new one is flat and streaky matte

Sometimes it's nice to double dip on a great catalogue title, even more so if it's going from 1080 to 4k. Unless the art is abhorrent, which this isnt.
I agree though, I feel the finish will be similar in quality to the recent 4k release of Stand By Me, with the upcoming steelbook of Edward Zwick's Glory most likely the same. Well, just a little bit mid. Not terrible, but not excellent. Just a hunch.

Love and own that original steel and I even quite like the pop art one as well but no need to triple dip...or is there?
No. Haha.

Still. Love the film and intrigued to see this on 4k, so ordered.

Delayed , won't be shipped on the 24th of June .. no new date given yet
Yikes. Seems like a very late in the day decision to delay. It was due in a few weeks.
Wonder what's happened. I'd have thought shipments would have been sent out to retailers already.

I'm wondering if the US release also has the delay?

According to the German distributor (Plaion Pictures), almost all of the steelbooks arrived damaged and they're now waiting for a new production batch which has not been given a date yet. I imagine this also impacts other countries' allocations.

Good info. Probably doesn't impact the US release then, as they won't be coming from the same scanavo plant as Europe.
