For Both it works out at £30 atm, you sure your willing to risk them selling out for the sake of a Fiver? :)

I have the original two hmv releases also and these are tons better.

Amen brother. I think I be ordering another set, one to open and the other for the sealed Lenti collection. if it does drop down in price, so be it.

Im tempted to order another 1 of each also, they are really nice looking and its great they will match the Maguire Trilogy. I usualy prefer my trilogy movies in one steelbook (i have the original uk trilogy release) but These look too damn nice to pass up.

Firstly, I shouldn't bother replying . . . but it does tend to grate after a while - these constant, unrelenting foreign product references cluttering up U.K. threads - and "last straw" and "camel's back" came to mind.
All these odious comparisons between products which are aimed at totally different customers - the majority of whom are satisfied with what the U.K. has to offer in the way of steelbooks and the pleasure of having films of our choice in metal rather than plastic packaging should not be underestimated . . . and all at reasonable prices - and most at even better prices if you're prepared to play the long game.

Secondly, yes, of course, I understand that WWA is to be found from here to New Zealand and that when I write "U.K. steelbook" it should be understood that it's not "Exclusive to the U.K." with WEA (unless of course it is).
HMV exclusive or Zavvi exclusive is taken to mean that either HMV or Zavvi have exclusivity for a particular steelbook HERE IN THE U.K. with the same steelbook available from Amazon Europe, CDON et al and often considerably cheaper for the same product . . . almost . . . or, rather, the same product once unsealed and the j-card/slipcover removed.
Regarding pricing: some like yourself may not think twice about paying GBP 35 - 50 for a steelbook together with other "really useful" stuff but personally-speaking as a film collector first and a steelbook collector second I'm happier buying Blu-rays that will never get steelbook releases together with reasonably priced regular steelbook releases before premium steelbook releases . . . the majority of which would anyway be double or triple dips . . . and I personally would not be able to afford to buy all the Blu-rays I buy now if I bought premium steelbook releases instead of regular steelbook releases.

Finally, dude, don't forget the 11th Commandment - out of 15 (with 5 "lost" on Mount Sinai - see Mel Brooks's HISTORY OF THE WORLD: PART 1 lol) although they weren't lost without trace hence:-
"Thou shalt not mention foreign premium steelbooks more than once in any one thread"

Anyway, enough of that and back ON TOPIC:-
Both of these steelbooks arrived today and very nice they are too.
Not going to attempt to capture the 3D effect in photos but I will attempt to give a brief description of the lenti magnets - which are quite different when compared side-by-side:-

AMAZING SPIDER-MAN LENTICULAR
- Spider-Man torso slightly set back with his head more to the fore - all set forward against a pleasantly, dull cloudy sky coloured background with the sun behind the clouds shining through reflecting off the material of his costume particularly on the shoulder area.
- Decent depth to the background and the 3D EFFECT is helped by the rain rods in the foreground and in the middle distance.
- The TILT EFFECT to Spidey's head is a nice touch.
- No alignment issues to speak of with the image retained within the frame on both the lenti and the steelbook itself.

AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 LENTICULAR
- Much greater 3D depth than #1 with our hero almost leaping right out of the lenti.
- TILT EFFECT to Spidey's arm and leg is a nice touch.
- Minor spider-web alignment issue on this one between the lenti and the case as well as scaling issue with the building on the lenti compared to the building on the steelbook frame- something that unfortunately seems to be the hardest thing to get right on these U.K. lenti steels where the designs carry over on to the frames.

In conclusion: 100% happy with my purchases and don't mind having paid full price / an extremely expensive 15 quid for each of these

I read the first sentence or so of your response and after seeing you going on again about the Asian steelbook thing (which as I mentioned before, I never brought up in the first place) I completely swiped past the rest and disregarded it.

After all, you're trying to single me out for a, expressing an opinion (freedom of speech and all that) on a steelbook based on the pics provided (weren't the only one to do this btw) and b, giving my stance on Asian releases after another member told me a I can buy the Asian version when released for "3 times the price"

If you're not gonna take the time to read what people are actually saying or talking about before taking to your keyboard warrior mode then I'm not gonna take the time to read a post you clearly spent most the afternoon putting together.

:)

Just got in from work and these definitely knock spots off the original HMV spiderman steels. The Lenti's are gorgeous and deep although slightly misaligned, The front artwork is awesome. Cracking release from Sony/HMV.

I've opened mine, great steel, worthy of replacing the originals, not that I dislike them, but I prefer these and the Lenti. But to my dissatisfaction removing the sticker on the front of the Lenti is left with some glue that you need to clean up. Not pleasant but be careful on removing this. It shouldn't cause any damage to the Lenti. I also found paint chip and faint scratch on the back so I will be returning these but just the hassle. There maybe some quality control issues over these steels so if you are planning on opening then take a real good look. For those that keep it sealed and then decide to open it later, it's a gamble! For those that don't open their steels then they don't need to care!

I hope you enjoy the pics :)

£5 is still £5 and with the amount of up an coming releases that I got my eye on, it all makes a difference.
Plus I really am not overly excited, not sure if the movies deserve a double dip.

I liked them alot more than the Original Maguire films.

I agree with Mr lgans. I mean the third spidey was done in 2007, 5 years later there's a reboot? Reboots is for more like the next generation. The special effects are still more or less the same. The spideys were not really any different at all, just different actors and villains.

Maguire as Spidey was way better than the useless Andrew Garfield who has wrecked his chances of continuing in the franchise. Spidey never needed a reboot as the original Spidey were good enough minus Spidey 3 which could have been better. Spiderman 2 is still the best Spiderman out there.

Spidy 2 is actually one of the most underrated superhero movies around. For me it's better than Thor 2 and Iron Man 2 and 3. Alfred Molina as Doc Ock and the 'Spideman no more' arc was great.

I've got the originals in the trilogy steel which I got for £8 from Zavvi. I've ordered these 2 as the in hand pics look much better than I was expecting. For the price I was expecting a lackluster lenti and poor finish. Glad to be proved wrong.
