Disturbing art choice, a metaphor possibly, it's been such a long time since i've seen this film, but this scene doesn't happen does it ?, can't recall.

However i think zavvis original steel for this is far superior.....

Exactly this. When I saw that, my first thought was that it looks like they got a child to create that cover using some Deer Hunter themed clip art. Maybe some art department somewhere is pranking Zavvi.

If you want to be totally literal you'd get something like this ...

... but TBH - at least in the UK - hunting is done on horses with dogs and the fox is the quarry.
Sporting shooting is either driven, rough or walked-up.
Stalking is reserved for deer so this should be THE DEER STALKER (at least in the UK).

Ignoring ^ they could have done something similar for THE DEER HUNTER to what they did with THREE DAYS OF THE CONDOR:-
