Amazon have and will shadow cancel pre orders fairly often.
They over subscribe on customer order ratio to stock and then silently cancel orders whilst offering no explanation and with zero effort to offer a replacement or alternative. Told me all I needed to know. I never pre order with Amazon anymore.
Now Zavvi have been doing the same. My last two orders with them got cancelled a week after release probably for the same reason mentioned above or maybe just logistical incompetence within the business. They're crap now too.
HMV and RWaves are the only sites to pre order safely from now
