To avoid Amazon UK cancelling your order for both Ultimate and Deluxe Editions due to wrong estimated delivery date listed

Use a Desktop PC
If using mobile device change it desktop mode to access change payment
Goto your orders on Amazon UK
Click view edit order
Click change payment
You can use same payment method as before that you used previously
Just click on that payment choice again it will send a new authorization on that credit or debit card you picked

When you do this your estimated delivery date will change to October 9 or later date depending on your delivery address location

By doing this my orders for the Exorcist have now changed to delivery date October 9 2023 (I get release date delivery as I'm a prime member)
did not work now i got email to say payment failed and order will be cancelled in 5 days if you dont update
but my card is correct and it failed as its not out until october

You must have done something wrong or is a issue with your bank doing authorization

I also often change payment method on pre orders before payment request is done with amazon websites if available funds on a card I originally used was going to be a issue closer to release date
I have 1 debit and 2 credit cards on my amazon account I often switch payment method on pre orders I already done

Is this just based off what one guy said? i've only seen one person say this?
Wouldn't this mean at least half the orders would be cancelled tomorrow?

BD fourm a member who's order had a estimated delivery date by today had his order cancelled automatically this afternoon by amazon UK due to their system listing not having any stock available

By using the trick to correct the estimated delivery date you avoid the chance of order been cancelled

my card is fine as I placed pre order for Talk To Me on HMV
I chose edit payment method and and then selected same card again.
I now chosen different card, a credit card and no failed transaction email so far. So may switch back to proper card closer to release,
 
Possible carnage in here tomorrow. And that will be on Amazon. Hopefully enough will see Paul’s tip. Worked for me and grateful too otherwise if this got cancelled because of Amazons f**k up I’d be screwing

I’ve also changed payments with different cards before that way but did not realise you can select the same card like that to fix an issue. Not that I’ve seen an issue like this tbh. I collect the MCU concept books and the dates are always changing. All the dates have updated automatically in my orders for 6 of those books in the past few days because of new release dates
 
Can you imagine all ebay preorders by resellers getting cancelled by Amazon because of this issue…that would teach them not to sell stuff they don’t have.

Yeh was thinking about that, they are going for crazy money and then they can't fulfil them.
Will see what happens, might be fine for the people who don't change anything but we will soon find out

I am new here but an avid 4k collector and had the same issue and used this trick and it worked initially but then it said I needed to revise my payment method within 5 days or it would be cancelled like the other user.

I only have one card on my account and for some reason using the trick seemed to cause an issue or glitch with the bank accepting it, Amazon customer service was useless as per usual, assured me the issue was fixed and then 15 mins later, same issue again (wasn't even going to contact them as you always run the risk of it getting cancelled such is their level of ineptitude at times.)

I stuck my credit card on there and switched to that and no longer have an issue, shows Oct 9th now.

Ridiculous from Amazon but very thankful for @paulboland for pointing out how to remedy it, so much so I joined up here to thank you.
 
There is some reports that Amazon late on Monday night or early on Tuesday morning have auto updated estimate delivery date to October 9th or later date depending on your location.

So if you did not use the previous trick with your order it might have already had estimated delivery date updated

I will take a guess amazon might have been wondering why there was a lot of customers doing change payment on their orders and realised then reason was due to orders having wrong delivery estimated date

I had this happen as well when altering the payment method but still using the original card. Delivery date changed to Oct, then later received an email saying payment declined.

Did the same thing again with a different card and no hat seems to have sorted it.
 
Spoke too soon. Gone on to Amazon this morning to be met with a red box and message saying ‘there is a problem with your order’ (no email this time though) and I need to update payment method within 5 days, otherwise the order will be cancelled.

Updated again (obviously), got a green tick to say all ok, delivery date showing correctly as October 9th (as it did following the previous two ‘updates’), but not confident that the same error won’t just occur again.

This happened to me once for no reason at all, must be a bug or something.
Fortunately it was ok after re applying it and its all listed fine since.

did not happen to me again after changing payment method
glad to see others had same issue and was not just me

I haven't done anything with my order as I've only just seen this thread. I've had no emails off Amazon yet and in my order page it just says "Delayed, not yet shipped"
Panicking now as to just let it roll or try and change the payment details!
