Hmm then that's worrying. I had a similar thing happen trying to order from Amazon France recently, where the order would initially go through, only to then be cancelled due to a "payment issue". Amazon can be very bizarre when they want to be!

Making me a little nervous here with all this cancellation talk. I got my order in when it first went live and did the reorder thing to get the correct release date but this release sure has been messy

Spent an hour and 16 minutes on the phone to them while they tried to figure out why it was cancelled (they still don't know and keep citing a non-existent payment problem) nor do they know why the product listing is still there as if it's still in stock to order when it's not. Honestly gutted. They can't understand that I've had this preordered since July and why it's such a big deal they've randomly gone and cancelled it.

Stuck in an order for the "ultimate" edition in the meantime, but I really had my heart set on this one.

WTF. Just got an email from amazon saying my order has been cancelled due to failed payment. There's enough money on the card I'm using and they haven't even attempted to take payment...I've had it preordered since announcement, I'm absolutely fuming. It won't let me reorder either.

Why would they even be trying to take payment now with 11 days to go until release….and, under normal circumstances, doesn’t Amazon usually inform you of a problem and then give you so many days to update the payment details before cancelling the order?

Definitely sounds like a screw up at their end.

Yep, spot on. Never ever had a preorder immediately cancelled because of a declined payment, I've always had 24-48 hours to update the payment information.

I checked with the bank before calling them but I already knew they hadn't attempted taking payment as it hadn't even appeared as a pending transaction yet.

Anyone ordered the other edition from amazon.fr? Mine still hasn't charged. Releases today. When you click on it - out of stock for new buyers, one place is re-selling but late November/early December for shipping/arrival.

problem cant be due to not having enough stock as I placed my original order 2 or 3 hours after it went live. it did not sell out until few days later

But clearly it's been sold out now? The only time one can order now is if someone cancels and you're lucky enough to be there when the system puts it back into the stream.

yeah i dont know what the hell is going on but like I said on my previous post after I got email to say they cancelled it I was able to re order it.
I cant any longer so its either they actually had 1 in stock cos of my cancellation and so i was able to order or its a glitch that makes it work even though no stock and we will get cancellation again before it ships

Ah gotcha! Well, it's been such a messy release since day one.

I'm still clicking here... exhausting. Oct 23 probably won't be much of a help either.

interestingly the original order said arriving monday 23rd but the new order just says arriving 23rd and not monday

Amazon had been a bit shite recently, they cancelled a pre order when it got to release date for no reason then it was in stock the next day and reordered it no problem. I had another order cancelled due to lack of stock and again fully stocked on release day.
All gone a bit crappy now they are getting more exclusives and don’t get me started on how their packaging has suddenly gone down the poop shoot.

Also Amazons CS from all territories have been awful the past year maybe a bit longer. They used to be great and easy to deal with. Now they're worse than zavvi at reading the messages.

this is actually first time I have had amazon cancel a pre order
I have used amazon a lot for pre orders in past along with hmv and rarely zavvi

CS is a nightmare on amazon. I deal with it only when absolutely no other options.

Yeah so Im not only one with this experience. Its terrible now. I got little dent on the Wicker Man edition , but not so bad that I want to go through the hassle of returning it, but they offered only replacement on return, no partial refund or just free replacement like they used to. Problem is the replacement would most likely arrive damaged again so I rather keep the one with small dent, but for a full price. This is something unthinkable 1-2 years ago. Management of CS department must have changed the rules or something and also their CS bots and AI taking over slowly.
