Is there a dark patch on the black around the thing or is it supposed to be just plain black. My copy appears to have a dark pattern around the writing.

Just checked mine Simon, cover is the "same" black all on the front...
Maybe looks darker because of the embosing/debossing?

Hi, yeah it's like a pattern on most of the front, I wondered if it's just a manufacturing issue on mine! I wondered whether it was a shadow design!
