Didn't know where to put this or if formatting is wrong for header (if so, sorry mods) but looks like these will be steelbook releases

I was gonna say, there's no trace of ETB design in this release. There's actually no trace of any design in this release at all lol
If ETB was/is only design and art, does that mean that all that extra tat we got in the Rambo, Leon and Fifth Element sets (also here) were pushed extraneously by Zavvi?
Other than a clear art design difference, these look the same in execution.

ETB were essentially 2 parts. Design and logistics. Zavvi are using the logistics proportion only here, which is pretty evident from the beauty shots lol

I mean, in terms of design and all the tat included, I dont hate it.. it's all very fitting for the film. Its clearly everythingblu inspired as everyone says (and yeah, my first thought was that they were more than likely involved, but apparently not).

See post above. Half-of is, but not in name. The set similarities are there, as will the manufacturing etc, just no design flare lol

When Zavvi talked about it being a premium release for collectors I had in mind the kind of nice limited editions that places like Second Sight, Vinegar Syndrome and even Arrow do - a high quality case with a perfect bound book full of articles and essays about the film. Or the recent King Kong and Twister releases from Universal. A nice steelbook with embossing and spot gloss. Not this kind of tacky tat that feels akin to the freebies you might get with film based magazines back in the day (not to bash the magazines - the extras were free!). The photo book aside, which even then is quite dull without any actual articles or writing about the film, there's nothing in these sets I would want. What am I going to do, plaster this stuff all over my bedroom wall with blu-tack like I'm 12 years old?

From their perspective I imagine they're comparing themselves to Paramout/Warner/Universal sets so with that as the standard are they offering something of value?

Rambo first blood has better art but it seems somewhat comparable and that seems to have been a popular release judging by the secondary market prices, is this release that different?

Rambo, subjectively speaking, has better art imo. Given that it has actual "art". I think they're comparing themselves to UK Uni and ToC releases in terms of "premium", yes. They're obviously not on manta, blufans etc.. level, but UK releases never have been. Astro being the exception there, as he is actually positioning himself against the Chinese retailers.

Great film choice and I can appreciate what they were going for with the design, but it ain't for me unfortunately (as well a lot of other folks by the looks of it). Prices are a huge turn off for a start, and the steelbook art is possibly the worst I've seen for this film. The previous release was so much nicer and classier. That said, I look forward to seeing what other titles they have in store and hopefully make necessary changes to their pricing -- they won't because it'll eventually sell out anyway due to people getting FOMO, which doesn't help the hobby at all!

I think this has come out 12 years too late. I've ran out of room to collect over that duration. I have BluFans OAB in my possession, I don't need to spend anymore here. Hope it turns out to be a decent release to whomever is in for it. Good luck Ninja's.

Poor start for battle axe here, hopefully next release is more in tune with collectors and something that hasn't already had premiums or quite recent outings...

Blufans and manta are better quality and cheaper! If you go premium you have to keep up with big boys or don't bother.

Battle Axe, Beta Max, all the same but difference, Battle Max could have been a better name, anyone planning to have a steelbook startup company?

Even the timing of this is awful.

Those prices, in the run up to Christmas, after everyone is skint after Black Friday/Cyber Monday pick ups!

What were they thinking?
