Tough race, loved Benedict in Imitation game, but Redmayne and Keaton were also quite astonishing in their respective roles.

No disrespect to the winner (Eddie) but I thought for sure Keaton was finally getting his Oscar tonight...

The thing about Keaton is that he had to create his character himself. I loved all 5 performances, but the other 4 had real people or footage of real people to base their appearance, mannerisms, speech, and character off of. I also would have liked to see him be rewarded for a body of work. Eddie has years ahead of him.

I think Keaton will never get a good chance like he had this year but I cant argue with Redmayne as the winner - he did an excelent job. Overall this years Oscars were very hard to decide - so many great nominations.

Yeah, this was possibly Keaton's last chance. I was rooting for him big time. His performance was great. I haven't seen Redmayne's performance, so I can't really judge. I'm glad Birdman cleaned up well in other categories though.
