I think he would make a good Green Lantern in the upcoming DC movies! :)
So i'll go with 1. Green Lantern (reboot) and 2. Batman vs. Superman (new):

1. First Scene showing him beeing the badass he is in Drive. The concept they used in the last Green Lantern would work nice on this one too, which means that the ship with the last carrier of the green ring crashes down in front of Ryan. This event will then turn him into the person we know as Green Lantern as he chooses to go this path. :)

2. Phew, Green Lantern in the first scene of BvS? Maybe showing him as an unmasked Green Lantern in Gotham, beeing surprised by a new "Driver", which is chased by Batman? :D

Thanks for this - I would love a Mondo Drive!!

Anyway, this is quite a difficult one but I'll give it a go.

1) In what 2 films (new, original, or remake) would YOU cast Ryan Gosling in and why?

I'd cast him in 10 Things I Hate About You as Cameron, because I want to see him play a slightly geeky guy who has no luck with the ladies. I'd also cast him in Titanic as Cal, because I think he'd be great at playing a self-involved, rich idiot!

2) How would you write the opening scene of them? (Be creative!)

10 Things would open with him arriving at school, wistfully staring at half the girls there and wondering why he can't get a girlfriend, before falling flat on his face in the busy cafeteria.

Titanic would start much as it does now - with him escorting Rose to the ship, speaking in a low drawl and constantly checking around for any bad guys. The Drive driving soundtrack would also be accompanying him. ;)

1) Laputa: Castle in the Sky (my favourite film) and The Dark Knight because it is just an awesome film
2) Laputa - First it will be live action instead of animated and I will have Ryan playing the part of the young princess Sheeta. He will be screaming at the army people while running away, but he will jump off the ship screaming and the camera will close up onto his cool, and calm but minimally expressive face while the Laputa theme song hits... SCENE.

The Dark Knight, have him play the Joker during the bank robbing scene, keep everything the same. However, replace all the clown masks with Ryan Gosling calm face-masks. SCENE. DONE!

Drive: Part Two. I'd absolutely love to see the driver again. Refn is definitely not the type to make sequels... but I wish he was. Haha. My idea for an opening scene would see the driver running his own garage in the middle of nowhere - a long way away from LA. During the day, as he works at fixing up his vehicle, he suspiciously notices the same car go past the front of the garage a few times. Inside the car are associates of Bernie Rose who are most certainly out for revenge. The driver closes the garage to the public come nightfall and holes himself up inside, ready and waiting. That same car then shows up again and three or four suited and burly individuals make their way inside. What happens next? I have absolutely no idea. I imagine it would be very violent though. Maybe there wouldn't be much violence after all and they issue him an ultimatum... "Come work with us as a wheelman... or else Irene and the brat are toast." - I'm not much of a scriptwriter. Heh.

Batman: Year One. If they ever decided to directly adapt Frank Miller's comic then I think Ryan Gosling would make for a very good Bruce Wayne/Batman. Opening scene would have to be Bruce Wayne's very first night on the job as Batman... without the suit of course... before the proceedings cut to Jim Gordon returning to Gotham City after a spell away. Chris Nolan essentially covered this ground in Batman Begins, but still, it'd be cool to see Miller's vision on the big screen.

id like him to be the new batman , and the it would start where maybe the penguin returned and broke out the joker , the joker played by johnny depp of cause , then joseph gordon-levitt would come as robi and maybe panguin and joker would kill alfred at the begining and give batman a arse kicking

Hi DB, Thank you for the Give-Away!

1) In what 2 films (new, original, or remake) would YOU cast Ryan Gosling in and why?

If i were given a choice, i'd cast Gosling in a 70's era gangster flick. For a small guy, he has a bold screen presence and does volatile, explosive anger and rage really well. The way he generally looks fits in with the that time period, as well.

2) How would you write the opening scene of them? (Be creative!)

The film would open with an aerial steady cam shot of cars and people lining up at Madison Square Garden for Led Zeppelin's final tour back in 77. I'd have to camera come to a halt at a top-down view of the massive crowd, and slowly drop it down, lower onto the body of people. Eventually, it would end up focusing on one man, the only man in the crowd who isn't moving to Zeppelin's music. Cut to another shot showing the man's face in a blank expression...the camera pans around slowly as Zeppelin plays "Gallows Pole". Finally, as Robert Plant sings -"Brother, did you get me some silver? Did you get a little gold? What did you bring me, my brother, to keep me from the gallows pole?"- we see the back of the guy's head come off. As the nearby crowd reacts in terror, the camera cuts to a ground shot of Gosling's character, dressed in a dark / midnight purple tailored suit, standing in front of the guy with a Colt Python pointed at his face.

Films would be

Expendables 4 where I would cast him as a villain for a change, opening scene would be him beating to death a chained up Jason statham which would lead to the Expendables avenging his death

Ghost Rider remake
So a new revamped marvel ghost rider would be good opening with a a bike chase scene between ghost and some ghoulishy looking baddy, old flame head would eventually catch up with him and kill the baddy then while walking away with destruction in the background his head would convert back into human form and it would be non other than goslings

1. I would cast Ryan Gosling in the remakes of Vanishing Point (as Kowalski), and in Dirty Harry (as Harry Callahan).

2. Opening scenes.

Vanishing Point: Opens with an older man sitting in a darkened back office of a mechanic's garage, as he pours himself a whisky. As he relaxes, he is disturbed by someone entering the garage from the front, and gets up to investigate. Kowalski (Ryan Gosling) is standing in the garage. The older man enquires as to why Kowalski is there so late. Without saying anything Kowalski gets in a white 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T (the classic muscle sound has to remain :) ). The older man enquires again, if/why Kowalski wants to start now, it's late. In a low voice Kowalski explains he wants to deliver the car by tomorrow. He starts the engine and drives out the garage. We see in car, As he sits at traffic lights at the end of the road he switches on the car radio, as "You Caught The Light" by Chvrches begins to start. The scene plays out as Kowalski drives through the city at night heading out onto the open road as he heads to California. The driving sequence lasts the length of the song, with low external views of the car looking into the horizon. In a sort of Michael Mann inspired sequence.

Dirty Harry: Opens at a downtown murder scene, as Harry (Ryan Gosling) arrives. Detective on scene can be heard telling Harry on the details they know. It appears the victim was shot at a distance. Harry is silent as he takes in the scene and the surroundings. He spots a suspicious van further down the street, left with the back doors open. He heads off on his own, investigating the van, where a rifle shell is found. The killer has shot from the rear of the van. As he further investigates he finds the killers note on the passenger seat of the van threatening that he will kill several others(the audience will learn the contents in a following scene). The scene ends with Harry finding the note.

I would cast the talented Mr. Gosling in a remake of Shawshank (not that it needs a remake :p) and Face/Off.

Shawshank: The opening would retain all of the classic time period feel of the original, maintaining the cut between Andy approaching the house and the courtroom, but it would open on the courtroom. Head down in court as proceedings occur, lawyers talking, accusing questioning, scorn from witnesses, jury. Intersperse Gosling as Andy sitting outside the home, clearly deep in thought - a thousand yard stare - but the audiences doesn't know about what. Suddenly seeming to snap out of it, he begins drinking and looks simultaneously lost and hurt. More court proceedings, head still down, lawyers consulting. A deal is attempted but denied. Back to in front of the house, he looks like he's on the verge of crying. Cut to the house and his wife is "engaged" with another man in clear view. Suddenly, the crying ceases and an odd, almost trance-like calm comes over our main character. He calmly reaches over, and pulls something from the glove compartment. Cut back to the court room as the verdict is read. Music intensifies, back to the house as we see Andy/Gosling coolly walk out of the car, up to the house and as he walks away the HAMMER IN HIS HAD IS SILHOUETTED. Back to court as the gavel comes down HARD, verdict: guilty. Andy/Gosling suddenly looks up, a sinister, twisted look on his face. Then the faintest hint of a wry smile as we cut to the title. Is he a good guy? Is he a bad guy?? Seems like he's done it!

Face/Off: We open on a montage of a police briefing, detailing horrendous crimes that the antagonist has committed (we'll say he's played by...Adrien Brody); drug runner, weapon smuggling, human trafficking, murders, etc. Some awesome rock soundtrack plays as the captain orders our hero and his squad to gear up. Cut to the antagonist's crew in a warehouse of some sort, a young informant runs in saying the cops are planning a raid. Both sides get armed to the teeth. Gosling, chewing on a toothpick, utterly cool as he checks his weapon loadout. Brody maniacally sweating and barking out instructions. The music crescendos as our heroes approach the warehouse. The cops surround the building, blockading the main entrance. The captain shouts out orders. Brody sneers and retorts that they're all already dead. A rookie cop prematurely fires on the building and all hell breaks lose. Some awesome gunplay starts that will eventually lead to Brody making his escape and some awesome chase and dialogue.

I would totally watch both of these movies lol. Fun idea for a contest!

Thanks for the give away !

1) X-men Apocalypse - cast as Archangel, cause he looks just like the comic character.
opening scene.- would be at the time of the pyramids being built. atop the pyramids in the distance looks like an eagle circling above. apocalypse is having an argument with some peasants not working fast enough. whipping them though they cannot move from exhaustion. He says to the peasant, "would you like to see your death, I call upon you my angel" and archangel (Ryan) swoops down from above the pyramid and impales the peasant with his wings.

2) Scarface 2 - cast as Al Pacino's sidekick cause i'd like to see him as a gangster killing lots of people.
opening scene - would be Al Pacino in a hospital bed. he never really died. a bunch of thugs come in to finish the job. They point their guns at him, and say "its your time motherf***er". everyone stops as they hear a toilet flush. Al Pacino says "say hello to my little friend". Ryan steps out of the bathroom and shoots all the thugs. lol.

Awesome contest :)

1. A Scarface sequel titled Scarface''s Assasin and The Godfather Remake. Would like to see Gosling in antihero roles. :)

2. The opening of "Scarface's Assasin" would begin immediately after he kills Tony Montana and he jumps on his his getaway car and drives away.
The opening of "The Godfather" would be a man asking the Don (Gosling) a favor while the Don pets a scorpion. :)

I dont have this Mondo steelbook yet so a great giveaway! Here goes:

1. I can imagine Ryan Gosling playing character in a film based on the video game Bioshock series. He could be Booker Dewitts friends son named Miles Wallace - a young private eye
starting a quest to find his lost father which leads him to a world he never thought could exist.

Opening scene could be him dreaming how he is drowning and his father saves him. This leads to him waking up, remembering childhood memories about his father, then looking at his door with a piece of paper sliped under it. He goes to the door to pick up the paper and find one word written on it: Rapture.

2. In something thats already been done: I would like to see him playing the role of Robin Williams in One Hour Photo. I think Ryan could really pull it off with a strange haircut, retro glasses and a weird look in his eyes.

Opening scene would be him imagining a happy family life, then "waking up" to a nightmare where he is alone in the world.

After seeing Drive, I could imagine Ryan Gosling starring in a movie version of Green Arrow. I can already see the movie opening with a charity function being held up by a group of thugs who get away with the loot and while on the run get hunted by Green Arrow down the dark streets of the city. One goes down an alley, another climbs onto a gutter and each get captured one by one till you finally see him in his green outfit and the title starts.

It would be interesting to him take on a Star Wars spinoff playing the part of a young Han Solo. Possibly an adventure which sees him meeting Chewbacca. I know there was a book about that but it would be interesting to have the movie start off in the typical fashion of him attempting to smuggle ship parts across some border where he gets stopped and tries to squeeze his way out of it, leading to an escape where he finally gets captured and meets Chewbacca.

1) Remake of the Godfather. Just cast Ryan in the Al Pacino role.

Opening scene theres an argument going down where one of the people that owes money to the Don played by Russell Crowe in a Brando role. They are arguing about not paying the protection money. Ryan struts in slowly with a tooth pick in his mouth and one behind his ear. He stands for a moment in the doorway listening to them arguing to Crowe.

'We aint paying jack ****! Frankie's men (@bloodsnake007 ) took us down last week. He stole all the candy out of the shop and is flogging it on the open market to @PunkNinja and @harry . You said AP (@apsmith21 ) and MAXI (@Naughtius Maximus )would stop us getting turned over at our hubs. They sent some Ninjas over, but NoDings (@NoDingsNoScratches )and @Noodles were distracted. Noodles was busy drawing whilst NoDings was outside checking the car out for DIngs and Scratches. And @Masterblaster was snowed in with boxes at the steel(book) factory!"

Ryan then comes walking over to the guy and just plants the guys face straight into the table, before taking his legs out making the guy fall backwards. Ryan then walks past the guy and takes a handful of grapes of the Don's desk before walking straight past against, exiting stage left.

2) Guardians of the Galaxy 2

Groot and Ryan having a stare down. Ryan as we know is a man of few words and him and Groot having a face off. Groot keeps asking "I AM GROOT" Ryan just staring back. Ryan then just says "I AM GROOT!" and walks off. Groot looks shocked at what Ryan just said. He then switches on a miniDisc and struts off the screen.

1. (Remake) My first choice would be one of my favourite films fight club with him playing Tyler durden (not that it needs remaking lol) I think he could be a great tyler especially the way he looks and later on in the original with a shaved head wearing a massive fur coat would be a great look for him.

Opening scene: not far off the original but maybe you meet him in a different situation from the aeroplane.
Basically ed nortons character leaves one of his anonymous classes he attends and arguing with marla and she runs across the road away from him and norton follows and nearly gets hit by a car... Cue gosling looking kinda drive esque behind the wheel and just loses his sh*t at norton for nearly damaging his beautiful car, marla thinks well he might get smashed up here finally and I'll just go and rob more laundry shops and a pizza. She goes.
Gosling is going mental at norton and goes to hit him and norton cowers and flinches with gosling realising "sh*t this guys weak", "I need to toughen this f*cker up" and decides to apologise and take him for a drink and so on into the rest of the original film. I would also have him get a bit more attention from other women throughout the film.

2. I would also like to see him in a marvel film maybe Jonny storm or an x men character (good shout at archangel @elektrickblue) or even the Logan's run he was meant to do or even american psycho or the machinist. Lol choices
I'm going to go with another remake and another great film but I can imgaine he would be creepy good at and that is the machinist.

Again pretty similar to the original just goslingfied and starts with him having an accident and ending up on a hospital bed with doctors worried about his weight and clearly not sleeping but he freaks out and gets slightly aggressive and leaves dramatically (leaving you the viewer is wondering what the hell is going on) when he leaves he ends up getting in a car and driving home which he believes is his and he drove to the hospital but actually he just stole it (driving off with the camera on his front you see someone run out after the car but in the distance giving you a sense of that wasn't his car) he then goes to work and causes an accident that makes someone loose their arm (like the original but also him lossing a finger) which you later see him sewing back on (probably causing it to not set properly) and then it kinda goes Into the original but weirder with him still not sleeping and wafer thin and he see a hooker all the time who he's kinda falling for but also thinks he having this other relationship with another girl he met and so on.

Thanks for the amazing giveaway
