For the record I’m just not a fan of any site having GB exclusivity. If a trusted member or site staff from any site or reddit or fb group or wherever can sell to their hobby group etc and help a smaller retailer ship less packages then so be it. It doesn’t force the end consumer to only go to one place.

Not to mention we live in a world now with drop shipping services everywhere if you want to farm out the shipping use one of those services locally or even FBA is an option (fulfilled by Amazon)

The added cost of the 3rd party shipping service will likely even pale in comparison to that of middle men GB Hosts.

@AstroC13 how exactly is it such a huge problem to have a second smaller allocation sent out to sam or whoever here on this forum?

surely that cant be *that* cumbersome if you actually cared about members here
Im going to go out on a limb and say control. He says they’ve been speaking about this for 8 weeks. MP would 100% want just full control to stop any other site saying they have a GB. Makes them look better, brings in possible new customers, more money etc. Control

Convenience surely? Having one group handle all the external stuff is incredibly convenient, speaking from personal experience I don't sell in bulk but rely heavily on eBay's GSP to handle all the international stuff which makes my life so much easier and I assume it's the same logic, when I was shipping direct years ago once your package hits certain countries it may as well have vanished into a black hole then your customer complains and there's nothing you can really do till it resurfaces, not a great way to run a business or much fun.

While it might sound like a terrible deal for many here I wouldn't be surprised if AC had no idea this decision is the equivalent of stepping on a land mine, it's not like this stuff gets openly discussed much.

Well everything outside the U.K. gets sent by one person instead of however many hosts there was before. Less work for him. More control to MP. Which would be a ridiculous idea because it shouldnt make much difference if there was 4 or 5 hosts but I’m just speculating

It does, a large % of customers for annihilation didn't purchase via GB for single slips.

I have to ship every single slip to each individual, in Australia, across the EU, USA & South America.

The idea was I could send on pallets and in bulk to hubs in these areas in and then they are distributed from there rather by me for each individual one. So ship maybe three times to cover everything rather the 100s.

I had no idea there was such conflict between forums/groups. Maybe I was naive but my intentions were only good here, some of the comments are pretty harsh, especially from those I've never dealt with before.

@sbarker that's right and appreciate the two sided view.

I've never set out to intentionally do anything towards members here regardless what some may think. I apologize that some of you feel the way you do but nothing has been done in malice or out of spite.

No one has used this forum for benefit, this thread was created by a member for the release and I've come here to help and answer questions. Until today I've never done any wrong doing here, never spoken badly about anyone nor used any plugs to anywhere else.

I'm going to leave it there now, as always I appreciate the support shown prior and the patience given

There will be no "charge" to join the forum to purchase an AC release. The pricing will be transparent up front and you wont need to be a member to purchase one. It would be no different then using other GB hosts.
Fair enough. I think you should state that in your next update because it will help others that have any concerns about costs etc.

From what I can remember that's not where their fees come in. Signing up to the forum/site is free, the additional charges come from the ordering process. They charge a flat fee normally initially to secure the order (about $25), then charge the rest and put their additional charges in when it comes to finalising it. You also get charged extra fees from the GB hub master when it comes to them shipping it to you. I purchased with them a couple of times but didn't like the process or the extra charges (particularly when it came to the final stage of shipping). For example, Manta's Into The Spider-Verse DLA had a unit price listed at $65.48, the main order with them came to $94.63 and then the extra shipping fee was £7.50, bringing it to about $105.00.

Also, the fact 'they' work with tier subscriptions which give you privileges based on tiers was/is a big no no. Not even to mention the exorbitant costs of those subscriptions alone...

Its quite clear here, its not a favourable move, i cant odds that. all i can do is assure people that there will be no issues with this going forward.

I cant respond to everyone's criticisms, its yours/their opinions, id just say allow it to play out, if your not intereted thats absoutley fine.

As for the no poll/ input from the community, I've been here to answer any questions, been transparent on everything regarding peoples purchases, I'm not going to discuss internal business decisions on an open forum.

I respect your views and that you don't wish to purchase any further releases , if i can change your mind and assure things work out then feel free to drop me a dm at any time.

Again, thank you for supporting Annihilation and your patience towards it as a whole.
Hey Dan (aka @AstroC13), just a quick question, please:
How HARD and DIFFICULT would be to leave a portion of the product for a GB here on HDN or/and for selling it on the website (for non-UK people)?

Have you at least TRIED to find some support here on HDN?
Cause I am pretty sure you could find MANY willing to lend some time, experience, knowledge and effort for doing exactly what seems to be the things that overwhelmed you (since you gladly given up WHOLE shipping to them).

I do indeed speak about the perspective of almost impossibility getting ANY further Astro Creation editions for NON-UK people, which are not already on that forum (indeed, can't say that forum/website can be called a web-shop, nor even a fair GB procedure, since some have more rights than others).

Anyway, my point is, if you really want to go higher and bigger, my only advise for you (if I'm allowed, and I usually don't offer advises to anyone), would be:
don't put all your eggs in just one basket!
(I'm sure you know what I mean)

Just my 2¢ idea, nothing else (maybe, my willingness to help you?!).

No one ever came to me complaining about Sam. In the past John master blaster paid hd zeta for exclusive so I could only presume the same. How’d that turn out for HD Zeta?

If that is not true then let Sam continue to serve people here.

Either way I wish any small business luck, but yes @AstroC13 you were naive because to turn your back on a large European base here that widely supported you doesn’t look good in my book. Thread is 50 pages long … some true fans here.

Plus let’s not act like we are so naive to think that we don’t know what is happening when you are trying to say hey HDN Members if you want to join a group buy please go to MP.

I wish you well … but I’ve seen this play out before if you ever want to chat drop me a line. Olive branch extended

As someone who dips his toe in and out of this hobby and only buys directly from retailers, I recall going to the MP forum once and being extremely confused about what it even was or how to join. This thread has made me think that was probably for the best.

Also, apologies but can someone please point me to the last update regarding single steel with slip releases? I’ve seen a few people have them but I don’t yet. Not sure if I should have or not when I purchased directly from the website? Thank you.
