Honestly, who in their right mind would select a matt finish for this? Gloss makes 99% of steels look better
I will be genuinely gutted if this turns out Matte

You can try and clear your browser cache or viewing in private mode. If that doesn't help, maybe try Google Chrome and see if that works for you.
I've just found out about this release right now, I think the artwork for the steelbook and the slip look amazing, and I've been wanting to watch this movie for a while now so I've placed an order Will be my first steelarchive release, so can't wait to find out if it was worth it, but right now it looks like it is

If you're a Denis Villeneuve fan (i'm a big one) then i'm pretty sure you'll like/love this film.. and yeah it's worth it ,I've just found out about this release right now, I think the artwork for the steelbook and the slip look amazing, and I've been wanting to watch this movie for a while now so I've placed an order
I've watched Arrival in December and absolutely loved it ! This was my first movie he did that I saw, and then yesterday I've watched Incendies which was quite a big surprise for me. Didn't think I would particularly like it, but I did !! So I think I'll like this one too

I vote for matte, because all of my glossy Steelbook have stratches (for example Zavvi Ghost Rider, Zavvi Terminator 3, Zavvi The Equalizer, Zavvi Kill Bill, Zavvi Training Day, Jurassic Park 1-3).
That only gloss makes a Steelbook better, is a mythos. A high quality matt finish could look amazing with nice shiny colors. Sure, high quality matt finishes getting rare, but Steelarchive could make the best.

Not every matt finish is dull, some Steelbooks with this have nice very vibrant colors. I have a DVD Steelbook with similar dark colors and it looks amazing, so its not the fault of a matt finish.
Or a zero varnish could look very well, for example Bad Boys II, Ghost Rider (DVD, not the dark glossy Zavvi Blu-ray Steelbook). The key are good colors and a good contrast in the final print.
Youre translation is correct. Yes, glossy is super scratch-sensitive, I have problems with 90% with all of my glossy Steelbooks. Completly new Steelbooks looks like old, not collector-used Steelbooks, its a nightmare. :-(
Every matte finish Steelbook need not be dull but when its glossed, it elevates the look. So gloss > matte. PERIOD. The problem is you never know how great it would have looked with a gloss finish.
Check Wall-E Blufans custom glossed and the original Steelbook. It made a huge difference.

Comparing the finished quality of gloss vs Matt based on a manufacturers quality control is ridiculous. Gloss finishes don't make scratches, poor quality control process does.

Over the years I've received just as many scratched matte steels as I have glossy ones... the problem isn't the finish, it's QC, as Covcraig said.
