Can't be bothered to dissect and respond to much of the content of the posts on this thread from the usual suspects even though some are a bit close to the bone . . . as a proponent of free speech all I can say is - as long as they are fair and not knee-jerk - "knock yourselves out".

The fact that the same people come into U.K. threads with nary a good word to say about x and y U.K. steelbook is more annoying to me than the few comments I make on non-U.K. steelbook threads should be - comments which by the way are not directed at other members but at the steelbooks themselves and I can't even remember the last negative comment I made to a member or even if I have ever insulted anyone here since I started posting a couple or so years back (vaguely recall maybe the once when I suggested someone was being obtuse about something).
That's in complete contrast to the uncivilised behavior of some on here but that's probably not their fault entirely and more the way they've been brought up . . . good manners is clearly an old fashioned and alien concept to these people.

The "Throwing good money after bad" gif is just my personal take on the 50 quid a pop release and justified considering it's the bits of card that doubles the price of the package so that it becomes less a steelbook release than the bits and bobs that go with it. . . the steelbook itself seeming to be relegated to a secondary position. More chatter about the packaging than about the steelbook itself is a rum business !.

The childish MOANA criticism levelled at me and repeated at every given opportunity has to be addressed though - a criticism levelled at my SPOILER pics prompted by the photo of the Swiss steelbook which clearly makes the scene look stormy . . . even though later pictures taken under different lighting conditions made it look quite different.

Anyway, I suggest that in future personal attacks be directed via the PM service . . . where I can respond in kind . . . instead of polluting these threads with juvenile insults which are as funny as a hole in the head to any reasonable person.

is it possible that other premium retailers picked up Prisoners? maybe they got a better deal somewhere else that's why it became difficult for steelarchive to compete? whatever the reason it's just so sad to hear this news.. haays waiting for my refund..

In other words there were very little interests in the pre-orders so they cancelled instead and took the safer option, right? :p

Wrong but I wont go into details :p The owner is a good friend and he is not happy about how it turned out.

I totally agree... that was my first thought when I read the message from SteelArchive.

One would think all required approvals would need to be in place prior to announcing the release and initial pre-order on SA website.

Yes the approvals were for the keepcase before it got switched to steelbook and then stuff happened. However I agree with your sentiment, everyone will get the refund. I am more pissed about not getting to have the product.

Indeed, you'd certainly hope all approvals would be in place before money was taken from customers....

Welcome back Vakira :p
Can I ask you a direct question if I may?
1 - Do you currently own any premium steel? A premium steel is defined as an exclusive or manta global/nova choice/Blufans OAB etc (not TW steels)?
2 - Have you ever owned a premium steel?
Don't take these questions the wrong way, I would like to know what level of critism and angle directed to premium steels come from. I have noticed that you have expressed quite a few negative comments on premium steels, not like that it bothers me at all so interesting to know if you could answer those two questions.

You can't remember insulting anyone?
At some point you've got to stop and ask yourself, is it you or the numerous people who've repeatedly called you out ...

These off topic conversations aimed at one member in particular have gone on long enough, so let's please move on. If you can't get along with someone, then just simply ignore them or use the block feature. We can't and won't ban someone just because they post opinions others don't necessarily agree with.

This thread has been left open so that people can discuss the cancellation and whether they've received a refund or not, so please take any personal arguments/disagreements to PM. Also, if you have an issue with a post or member, then please hit the 'report' button so that we can review the situation.

It would be better to close this thread before any bad blood arise from these off-topic discussions.
Bit late for that I think lol. Hopefully everyone has got it off their chest now though and are therefore able to move on. :)

Still no refund

Considering they knew this was cancelled on Friday I'm a bit annoyed it's taking them this long
How did you pay for this mate... through PayPal? If so, you can obviously always open a ticket with them to get a refund. Personally I'd give SteelArchive a little more time though, as they're no doubt busy dealing with the repercussions of the sudden cancellation.

Defo a bit late

I paid with PayPal but like strangerbyday just mentioned this should of been pretty instant.
I'll give them more time but even an update email or message on here would of been acceptable.

I know I'll be thinking twice about using them in the future and fair dos about the studio, it's a shame but they should not of taken money up front without the studios go ahead. Very bad way of doing business

But it is a shame because the art is gorgeous but it also means I have the money for something else that I know will be legit (dory blu fans or hell and high water kimchi)

Since it was Sold out 1000 Units, I expect for him to have to take some time to get all the refunds done.

I didn't think it had fully sold out though. Fair enough and I agree with you.
But it's day 4 now (or 3 depending on when they found out on Friday) and loads haven't received refunds

Well, also in Germany there's a weekend after a Friday ;)

We could simply give Steelarchive a break and wait for a few business days at least for the refunds to arrive, no?

Patiently waiting for mine

Not when you've taken customers money but haven't even had a go ahead from a studio

Any job I've had if something needs to be finshed then you stay behind and finish it

Plus there's that saying that Germans are efficient

I don't mean about refund arriving in my account either, I know when the process starts it can take up to 5 working days, that's standard.

but to let your customers know what's happened and to say we will be issuing refunds is much more acceptable, not everyone is on social media and speaks German

It's been very quiet in here since pre order from the "owner"

Like I said previously I can wait, I understand it's a small operated company. That's ok, I get that. But I'm still allowed to be annoyed at the 0 communication and the style of business they ran

I also made this very clear the day they said its a steel. If they cancelled that pre order date, let it sink in to customers it's a steel and arranged a new date then none of this would of happened. It would of been cancelled before the new pre order date. Simple really
