@Wreck @digitalbabe @Apollon @apsmith21 I am not a very vocal participant on the forums, but I would be the first to admit I have benefited a lot from this forum...no doubt it led me down a path of incurable addiction and loss of thousands of dollars, but that's a minor point!!! I thank you all for the initiative of starting this and for the work you no doubt put in....and this is just my view and I am not saying it happens, but I don't believe any operation needs to be non-profit, so HDN making any money for itself through any means including links, GBs is perfectly fine according to me.

With regards to GBs, I am fine with what you do now and will be OK with any changes you make, but I really cannot believe why there is this much complaining...I missed the Kimchi Deadpool release as I wanted to purchase directly from the site, and I was disappointed, but we need to keep things in perspective....if anyone is that keen on a release, it can still be got by spending a little bit more, else the wiser option is waiting as inevitably a better release comes up....just as I managed with this release.

And @Aniv, thanks to you too for organizing these GBs!!

If anyone thinks you can run a site the size of this nature on GB fees a lone then you of course have never ran a site of this nature. ;) If the answers you hear are not from myself, DB or Andy then they didnt come from HDN. People like to put their spin or twist to what they think are good answers or correct answers, but that doesnt always mean they are even repeating what is told to them. I appreciate the kind comments tho for those that realize FIRST HAND that these GB fees DO HELP fund this site's technical operations.

Nothing in life is free. I was once apart of a gaming forum and the members donated thousands a month to pay for the site fees. We have a donation option here as well. People can sign up for it if they like and you know how many people are signed up to it right now? 1 person. But that doesn't make me mad at all , not even disappointed I'm known to be a cheerful positive dude... its all good, we're surviving the site is operating. This isn't my day job, and contrary to what anyone may believe we arent rolling in the dough lol. When this becomes my day job (and in 7 years it hasnt... guess what, not gonna happen!) then I'll be the first to tell you all.

And when I bring my fat American butt to the UK next year I expect a beer from all you moaners for all the nights I stay up working on this site for all you lads! :p:thumbs:

is that expecting too much? Or should we raise the fee 1 month prior to my visit so I can just "buy you all" beers.... with all that extra money I got rolling around.

@Wreck where's the donation link I'm Brasic at the moment but would like to contribute in future.

P.S. Let us know when your in the UK hopefully some of us Ninjas from the UK can buy you a beer

The idea/goal is for HDN to have a small booth at LFCC next year. That and hope to plan some cool meet up for Ninjas in the UK. I'm going to work hard to make this happen. I've already got a Ninjas house that I'll be staying at so that also means ... more beer money for you all!

Hell yes I would be in for a meet-up!! I will buy you load of beers @Wreck !!

Can't be any worse than the headache we get with all the complaining that goes on when things like this go on ;)
Always bad seeds that have to ruin it for everybody else because they drew the short stick.

I waited around like everybody else and had the site crash on me because of traffic and I still got what I wanted.

Now it's going to be hell waiting around all day wondering when the gb goes live.

/minirant

In theory, I like the idea of GBs going live at a random time on a specific day. But there's one big problem with that--some parts of the world are going to be severely disadvantaged no matter what time you choose because they will be asleep. What I can see myself doing for these particular GBs is going for 24 hours without sleep, and my body's too old for that kind of crap now. Please limit this strategy purely to GBs with very limited quantities.

We'll do a Mondo style "random time on Thursday" etc... next time.

personally i think this is a bad idea. it punishes very busy people. my days are often swamped with various projects and meetings so checking hdn all day long is very difficult. seems to reward those that have the time/ability to do that.

I think segregated group buys is a WAYYY better approach. way better.

:thumbs::naughty:Why not alter the time for release from one time zone to another for the GB releases order

1st >Identify the time zone
2nd >Alter the GB time from GB to GB releases against the Time zone ORDER

EXample:
lets say that their is 3 time zone Asian, Europe and USA
1st Gb NOVA release at asian Time zone favor.
2nd GB Kimchi release at europe time zone favor.
3rd Gb Blufans release at USA time zone favor
4th Gb FAC release at asian time zone favor.
5th GB bestbuy release europe time zone favor
6th GB Kimchi release USA time zone favor
7th Gb blufans release Asian time zone favor
8th GB Nova release Europe time zone favor

This is just a suggestion :whistle::whistle::whistle::whistle:

Interesting thread catch-up... :giggle::coffee:
giphy.gif

:p

Also catching up,

I don't want to derail but I think it's a bad idea too going live randomly (not that I use many GBs) but the idea of allotted times/ days for different countries is a better idea. But obvioulsy more work for the mods and GB host which understandably they might not want to do or even have the time for

Both have their pros and cons

Group Buys work well as they are no need for any drastic changes
It's only the odd release that is a very limited GB that causes strain on HDN Servers
Most Group Buys are fine and you get plenty of time to request a copy

When its very limited amount like 30 copies no changes to times or separate GB times will make any difference to heavy load on HDN servers
It's luck that's all

Well do you think I have the time for all that? I sure can do that if you compensate me at the rate of $90/hour and I would be taking a massive pay cut if I go for that option too. Does the retailer host multiple preorders for customers in every timezone. Lets be realistic my friend.

I use the world event planner website and find the best suitable time across all the timezones selected. Also we have to consider that a moderator needs to be available at that time to make the GB go live.

Folks, please move on from the group buy chatter in here. Apollon has said a variety of different options are being considered, and those have to work for all people involved in running the group buy. Let's give this a little breather-thread locked. Thanks guys!

Since the thread of Deadpool Mantalab AND GB thread is closed i have to ask...

From the GB
"Invoice will be out by August 13th 2016. Any unpaid orders will be cancelled."
Have anyone received a invoice or paid? @Aniv ??

Thx :)
