Japanese Steelbook is average at best. Finish is poor. I had to gloss it to make it look a bit decent.

JP video has a better compression though

The Japanese steelbook cover looks better than the bad colour rendition on the UK release which seems to be a direct copy of the regular blu-ray which was also wrong. The sky is not supposed to have a green tinge on the cover but grey.

You have only seen a mockup. No one knows what the actual steel will look like.

Bit hard to tell how this ranks until it's released mate! Maybe we should let zavvi fcuk it up first before assuming it will be the most rubbish version available. But I have to admit the Japanese version is sweet!!
it has the same artwork on the inside as it does on the front. it is the worst by default for that alone... sheer laziness and lack of imagination. i have got the crow and have seen the departed steel, by the same people producing this steel, and if its the same finish as those two titles, its going to look like an old biscuit tin.

In the Zavvi steelbook's defence, levi, this one is the only Region B steelbook with 3D (the Mondo will be probably be region locked).

Well apart from the cover what's so special about the Mondo steelbook? Instead of repeating the artwork it is virtually devoid of artwork apart from the cover
The back artwork is a bit plain on the mondo but the interior art is good and the disc art matches up with the image. I think that's a nice touch.

Fantastic heavy gloss finish, the likes of which Zavvi released titles will never have.
Great original front art that stylistically matches the comics that will look fantastic next to some of the limited edition variant issues.
Nice interior and matching discs.
Simple but effective back "I don't ever show the backs on display"
Nice Mondo printed matching slip
Superior transfer of the film "The UK version is borderline unwatchable"

= FAR superior to this amaray copied, garbage transfer with lazy finished art.

:p:naughty:

I agree with all this but that heavy gloss would concern me. Gloss has a tendency to scratch and with the clear slip, if it's the same as First Blood, then it'll be pretty tight and would wear that heavy gloss down.

Had this on order with the z-box but decided to cancel, not gonna be held to ransom for £42 when all I want is the steelbook, got the Mondo on it's way and already have the Japan version so they can go and stick it!

In fact my Zavvi pre orders are looking pretty bare!
