Thanks for the tip on the different boxes. I haven't researched it enough to know that there were different versions on some of those. Any idea why DC changed the name of their collection from Universe to Heroes?

! I had never planned on picking up the SDCC Patina Bats as part of my collection. However, and very luckily, I was approached by someone who saw my For Trade/For Sales post on a Facebook group that was after a bunch of mystery minis that I had. So again, very luckily, we were able to come to an agreement on a trade for a bunch of them. Every time I think I'm done with my DC Collection, I end up finding an AWESOME deal on one or two of the more expensive pieces that I never thought that I would own. I have the Patina Bats, Metallic Red Nightwing & both Toy Tokyo (Red & Gold) Exclusive Batmobiles on the way. After those and some customs I'm doing are done, I'll be considering my collection done. Hopefully I find a way to pick up the super expensive pieces without having to drop all that cash, but I'm not holding my breath.

As far as them changing the titles/looks of the DC boxes go, I'm not for sure. With the different Chases, the differences are minor, but make all the difference in the world in my opinion. For example, on the newer Superman Chase, his tights and boots are NOT metallic, where on the older Chase they are. However, he's the only one I know of whose box has not changed to the new black DC Super heros version.

I have a few Hobbit/LOTR ones and was just wondering why with such a huge franchise they have made so few pops for it.

I mean if you look at Game of Thrones or breaking bad they have made (almost) all the characters.

They haven't even made Frodo, only Thorin of the dwarves, no Bard the bowman.

It's petty disappointing.

Good point. There could be a ton more pops from those series. However, when Funko obtains a license to make figures from a specific TV show, movie, etc. there are sometimes specific rules/contingencies placed on them by the owners of that license. Some of those include (but are not limited to):
1.) Number of characters Funko is allowed to use.
2.) Which characters Funko is allowed to use.
3.) Whether the pops HAVE to be bobbleheads or not (e.g. Star Wars & Marvel).

I think in the case of The Hobbit & LOTR, it was a matter of timing and the stipulation of which characters would be allowed to be used as pops. Timing in the fact that GoT is an ongoing show and both Hobbit & LOTR have come to an end and Funko didn't start making pops for them until the first or second Hobbit movie.

This is mostly speculation on my part. I know for sure that stipulations are often added into the licensing deal. I'm just not 100% sure that my answers to your question are completely accurate. Makes sense to me though...

I do think it's a bit ridiculous that they didn't make a Bard pop to go with the Smaug pops.

I totally forgot there was a funko forum here. I need to start adding it to the list of sub forums I check. Anyone else buy 2 boxes of Pop Tarts just for the Avengers pops. I thought about buying more and creating multiple accounts but I really don't have room for duplicates. Plus, what to do with all those pop tarts? I like them, but not 4 boxes worth. Maybe give them to the homeless around my work (Downtown Los Angeles). Hmmmm.

It's an Avengers promotion. The new Captain America and Iron Man pops from the movie. 1 code with each box of pop tarts. You redeem it online and they send you the Pop in 4 to 6 weeks. Comes out to around $3 give or take for the box of pop tarts. They are proving hard to find for some people though. I got lucky and my store had a bunch.

Anyone in the USA Disney Rewards Currently has Rocket Racoon for 750 points and R2-D2 for 675. R2 has been there a while but Rocket just came back after being sold out.

I am starting to really wonder if anything will just be left as a small rarity.

For example the chase versions, yes some are rarer than others but they were supposed to be something a wee bit different from getting the ordinary one.

I only have one chase the spike vampire one and I know he was fairly early to get the fact that now Zavvii has a 'vampire spike' for preorder just makes you wonder.

Are these chases they happen to get or just re-releases?
