Wtf are naughty Amazon sites? Does Amazon stream porn now LOL

I thought porn was trying to push VR as the next tech. You say they arent backing 4k, well they still produce more 4k content than 3D content. They don't give a care about 3D.

If you read my post you'd see I said they were focusing on VR "Virtual Reality" They never really used 3D in a big way at all so saying they use 4K more is a mute point really, but they aren't really using UHD at all either with only a few sites catering for it and having friends in that industry most downloaders are still using 720p downloads over anything else because of file sizes, very few download or stream UHD. As a physical format they aren't backing 4K, a handful of studios are but most aren't. For a physical format to really succeed you need the WHOLE adult industry behind it like Blu-ray and they aren't interested. Without that backing the format in physical form is dead in the water, and most of the large adult companies are in league with the film and electronics companies behind closed doors as many secretly have the same owners.

People can bang the 4K drum but its falling on deaf ears, as without the smut companies backing its finished. They chose what you will be using next, have done for near 40 years and will continue to do so as they make more money than the film industry and electronics companies combined.

Oh and porn has its own Amazon style sites for buying discs worldwide lol

Thanks to my job I DO get to speak with high level management especially within Samsung and Sony, and both fully admit privately that they have dug themselves into a corner as UHD isn't doing well at all, its selling but not in numbers that are good for business. My staff constantly mock them when they are in the building about killing 3D when 3D discs are still doing better than 4K discs, which is why for someone like Blufans they will stick with what they can actually shift rather than pushing collectors out. Personally I say they should release sets with 4K/3D/2D that way everyones covered, but with this title and Dr Strange, they were both approved before Disney announced they were now looking at UHD, and Disney still haven't announced if they will be doing UHD discs. Samsung know full well they made a mistake as they wanted to sell their really top models without 3D and thats been a huge disaster for them. They sell plenty entry and midrange sets to buyers who most likely still have a DVD player, but high end models are for us nerds and we want as @neo says 4K and 3D on the same model. 3D isn't dead as that posted article suggests as the companies aren't ever going to admit to the media that they made a mistake. They will quietly just change their mind, and they know full well that there is a few billion dollar megafilms coming all using 3D.

If you think 4K is the clear staying for a while winner good for you, I have a 4K HDR certified set in the house and see not enough difference in it to the other 2D/3D HD set, both of which are high end Samsungs to see anyone outside of Cinema fanatics or AV geeks bothering. XXX certainly isn't bothering and thats what you should be most worried about. Want to future proof properly, hit those naughty Amazon sites as thats where the real future begins

I have noticed this half heart approach when it comes to 3D. I have read numerous articles about the death of 3D but yet still find the same companies are pushing 3D tech in other related products such as projectors and blu-ray players 4K ones included. Furthermore, they have invested quite a bit in VR ( phones ) which is basically 3D. All the while, I have yet to see studios abandon 3D. I think that the tv manufacturers will revisit 3D in the near future. A lot of the new exciting stuff is revolving around immersion tech in gaming and personal entertainment. All these seem to be 3D at the basic level. 3D is evolving and it seems the question is how to embrace it.

Nail and head my friend. The next gen IS 3D just far more advanced 3D and the Tech companies will be working on ways to promote and show it. 4K is a small step up in quality, but not enough for it to last very long when companies are already behind closed doors looking 5 years ahead, and they aren't looking at 4K, thats already gone for them. 4K at present it just what they want to push onto consumers, its already been and gone in the tech labs

It still outsells hollywood discs by MILES! what I don't get is those buying the magazines!!! lol haven't they got laptops :naughty::rofl:

Yeah it's odd

I remember when I was a kid me and my mates would find porn mags in the weirdest places like parks, woods and forests so maybe it's still those kinds of people who can't connect to wifi whilst going for a woodland stroll!! Lol

Gunn might have stated the best viewing is 4K, but the biggest film in history's director is focusing on 3D tech for the Avatar sequels, 3D is far from dead thanks to James Cameron, who really can dictate what film studios do

glassless 3d (with the option to switch between 2d & 3d).
I dont know if you guys heard but James Cameron said that he wants to present the Avatar sequels in glassless 3D.
And i sincerely hope that happens. I've been waiting for that since the first 3D Bluray i bought. There's about more than 3 years till Avatar 2 comes out. If the big theatre chains across North America get behind this and upgrade their equipment, we will of course see 3D again. Here's to hoping for all that

When is this slated for release?

Can't help thinking that VR using a massive headset is just a fad or gimmick that will die a death and end up on the scrap heap.

Thats more down to the cinema than the film, I've had many bad experiences with 3D in the cinema, filter not put on, out of focus etc. On a high end TV and especially in active 3D its 100% flicker free, razer sharp with immense depth to the image. I've shown family 3D blu-rays who HATED it in the cinema and were blown away. The 2 cannot be compared.
I think you are probably right. I haven't seen 3D movies at home, so can't compare.

The thing that annoyed me most about the first Guardians release was that the aspect ratio shifting of the 3D was missing from the 2D, probably as some gimmick to promote 3D. Hopefully the aspect change witnessed in 3D at the cinema is on the 4K and 2D BD releases. I can only ever really watch a movie in 3D once, just to experience it and that is usually in the cinema. After that I just want the best picture quality possible and now that 4K is becoming more and more affordable it's a no brainer for me to go for a 4K release over the standard BDs. I'll probably end up getting this, but I'll need to swap the discs out which will also be a shame as Disney's disc artwork is pants compared to BF.

Oh ok so 3D failed because of porn...I see!

Also, it's "moot" not "mute" point.

Bang on the nail ! Those company's behind the big 4k push (like philips did with "cdi/vcd"), are trying to make as much from it before it dies in the public realm ! Why buy a large expensive tv without 3d for the same price as the previous model ? One other trend the industry does not speak about, is the early adopters who want the best, take a gamble, and invest in the hardwere asap; but now this is where it gets interesting, they quietly build up the softwere side ready for the full onslaught and acceptance of the new tech. Most consumers of 3d have slowly been increasing their 3d catologue content waiting for the final rollout and acceptance by the mass consumer thereby hitting the ground running. One simple word describes the future of tv, "Glassless" ! Regardless of whatever resolution ! Some great post's Psychoscot !!!!

Thats why i have been trying to keep "Ninja's" hard earned money in their pockets and not to be distracted by 4k ! I know the future name for the glassless system, the reason why the industry is taking a breather (and pushing 4k to fill the gap inbetween), and so on. George lucas went on record saying the future of star wars will be 3d (just not the current flavour of needing glasses). If Ninjas are happy with and got the money to invest in a short tearm 4k, then all the best, but as a fellow Ninja i feel the need to highlight a few things and let us concentrate on what we love, the packaging, steelbooks, digi books, big sleeve etc.
