I pre-ordered this (2 copies) on Jun 8th, and got a "fulfillment delay email" on Aug 8th.
I chatted with customer service this morning, just wanting to confirm that my order will be fulfilled and they said yes, its packaged up, it just needs to be picked up by a carrier and that I will receive a shipping confirmation in email soon..

I had a single order that never shipped get cancelled this AM. Things keep going in and out of stock but if you can I would place a new order
The blu ray was released with different steel designs 4 times at least. Yes, ownership and licensing may have changed over the years but I'd say the likelihood is pretty high that any prior 4k steel gets a reprint or a new design at some point. It's just how long you consider too long to wait.
Personally I just bought the Amaray with a slipcover from the bay until then. I wasn't keen on the last design but the it was too late by the time I regretted it. Now, the prices aren't worth the design tbh.
Not likely under disney. It isn't fox anymore, so things have changed. I can't remember the last time disney re-released anything that didn't tie in with a new disc or film, particularly anything that isn't their own IPs i.e pixar, mcu, star wars etc.. 30th anniversary is this year, anyway, so that's that one gone.
Wonder if the biggest hope at this stage is a steelbook with this and Mann's sequel/prequel.
Yeah Mann confirmed he's finished the screenplay for it. Lots of casting rumours but the only thing that's been openly said by him is that he spoke to Adam Driver about the lead role.
